Zarif,

Always interesting to see how you are faring on the Dow - I am more a long term investor (i am an accountant after all) who is slowly learning the charting techniques and short term trading. i tend to watch the Dow more than the FTSE due to the obvious hazard of having to go to work during the day! Could you let us know any more details on the course in Cheadle as it is just down the road for me and I would be interested.

Chadbukl: it was 20/pt . So made 9pts x 20=180 plus 750 from previous trades giving a princely sum of 930.00 and all tax free!!!!!

Anyway lets see what tomorrow begins.

I have opened another short Dec Dow opening at 9671 and 2/pt as a feeler on the overnight fluctuations.

This is given to us by courtesy of Jeroo:

I've got the futures bouncing off 9600 up to today's S1 on the YM. My pre market Dow indicator says Dow will open at 9645 at present with 9691 as the close on the YM.

On other thing to note is that my SPX pre market indicator gave a reading of 1063.52 this morning. So before the bombing, this market was intending to climb much higher today but as sentiment changes, these rises could transpire to portend a drop.

Dow futures pivots for today:

Pp 9666
R3 9814
S3 9518
R1 9732
R2 9773
S1 9625
S2 9559

zarif - 20 Nov 2003 16:11 - 674 of 2279

long open at 9649 at ?10/pt closed it just at 9678 = 29pts x 10 =?290 less ?98 the short that got short circuited by the bounce up from the spike. So made a net profit of ?192.00.
anyway seems to fall down from 9678 mark so far a brick wall at 9700. If that gets violated then things could get interesting.time for cuppa then regroup the forces.

ps: harlosh you see i do put on the loss when i get one. Lucky as it was not ?10/pt. I was uncertain and had a under normal feeler trade ready for the open and the spike did it-but seemed to bounce straight back.

TRINS AT 0.82 17.09HRS.
It is trying to climb up but falling away as soon as it nears 9689 say (9700) seems to be rock solid barrier at preset but dont be decieved into making a move as it can get violated anytime and then u would be on the wrong bus going the wrong way.It happens to most of us so be careful.

deliners are outpacing advancers on dow and the trin showing 0.82 makes u wonder.
Watch the Floor and the ceiling -meanwhile sit enjoy coffee/tea in the tearoom and twiddle thumbs time.

Hi guys,

As I've said before I trade FTSE stocks, not the DOW, but
you asked folks to put their view on this thread for
consideration.

So far I've been wrong this afternoon, I bet that instils you
with confidence in this post.;-)

Due to the uncertainty with the terror attacks and the proximity
of the weekend, I did not expect many new long positions to be
taken over today or tomorrow.

What I expected was a 'u' shaped chart day as Bears drove down
prices to find value Bull buyers and then bought back to go flat.
Doesn't appear to be happening.

One possibility is that I am right with my reasoning, but we
end up having an 'n' shape chart day as daytraders go flat from
the other direction.

Not saying I'm right, just a view for your consideration.

your comments are always welcome and as i have said b 4 doesnot matter whether good/bad.everyones opinion is welcome as we can form a better picture.many times we see only what we want to see.

Anyway was getting bored and had been wanting to try curreny trade which i had never done b 4 so gave it a go. Next step is to do individual shares on s/b and see what happens.

: short open dec EUR/DOLL At 11889 at ?5/pt

please do keep visisting us often and make sure we keep out of mischief

Thanks for your reply Zarif,

I've only been posting on this site for a couple of weeks
and was unsure if my views were welcome or not.

There doesn't seem to be the same amount of 'Alpha Male'
wannabees that you get on other sites, constantly trying
to score points off each other.

I'll keep adding my 2p worth on the understanding that it
is purely a personal view and for consideration only.
I don't pretend to be a Guru.

What matters is your view, it's your money.

Melnibone.

Harlosh - 20 Nov 2003 20:20 - 679 of 2279

Melnibone,
I still have 'L' plates so your views are appreciated.
Looks like your 'n' shape is taking.........shape

Regards

Melnibone - 20 Nov 2003 20:21 - 680 of 2279

Just had a look at your charts at the top of this thread.

Still 40 mins to go, but maybe my 'n' shape chart type
day isn't so far off the mark.

Melnibone.

Thanks for the reply Harlosh,

Looks like our posts crossed. :-)

Hi, y'all,
Closed my Dec short for -20 points.
A lot better than it was earlier, phew!
What's the betting there will be a bounce now into tomorrow.
The price hasn't, yet, broken the lower channel and it has tested the high channel. My guess is it will close up tomorrow.
But what do I know?
