Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

More likely, Fred has one of the Maggie Thatcher blow-up dolls that are available. The caption is something like, "she fu**ed the miners and now you can f**k her yourself".

Scargill was absolutely right in saying that the end of the coal industry was the aim.
But that was the last time he was right, his tactics played into the governments hands and that was the end of coal mining, with the general public cheering on.
Fool!

Scargill was a menace and so were the leaders of most other unions. He wasn't interested in the miners. His interest was politics. He wanted revolution and to bring down the government as the unions had already done once not long before. He called a strike with no vote and never had a vote despite many union members wanting one. Thatcher knew that a confrontation with the miners union was coming irrespective of her policies. She sensibly built up stocks of coal as soon as she was elected meaning the miners would be bound to lose. Scargill knew it as well, but dragged the strike on, hoping for a general strike. Luckily the other unions saw sense.

Labour in chaos over Europe as Jeremy Corbyn ditches key policy to stop benefits for migrant workers for two years when they arrive in Britain
Corbyn ditched policy to stop in-work benefits for migrants for two years
He said they 'should have access to the same benefits as everyone else'
But Shadow Home Secretary insisted pledge was still part of party
Labour was last night in chaos as Jeremy Corbyn ditched a key policy to stop paying migrant workers benefits as soon as they arrive in Britain.
On a visit to Brussels, the leader said immigrants with jobs 'should have access to the same benefits as everyone else'.
But his shadow home secretary Andy Burnham insisted Labour's manifesto pledge to make EU migrants wait two years before getting benefits such as tax credits was still the party's policy.
The Labour leader went to the EU capital to address a meeting of the Party of European Socialists (PES) ahead of the European Council summit attended by David Cameron.
