Referendum : to be in Europe or not to be ?, that is the question ! (REF)

required field - 03 Feb 2016 10:00

Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

Source: BBC Freedom of Information request , and when they get it they misrepresent it to suit their bias agenda.

cynic - 31 Mar 2017 11:28 - 6651 of 12628

6647 - total bullshit! ..... money is always the driver in these situations

VICTIM - 31 Mar 2017 11:33 - 6652 of 12628

I see the Gov has given a no to a new Scottish ref . thank heavens for that , how can you make any decision without knowing the outcome of leaving the EU , but I'm sure that Krankie will make trouble along the way .

One of the reasons for not coming to UK, or leaving to go elsewhere, is expectancies of "Brexit".

Note it does not say most people or many people it just says one of the reasons. That could be just one person. Great source that.

Manuel,

Your god in not a universal god, or goal.

Martini,

Could me millions.

Ask your friends.

Go back to the number of Australian dentist coming to the UK in the 70s, and Doctors, dentists, allied professionals and University researchers going from the UK to the State, Australia etc.

Dil - 31 Mar 2017 12:37 - 6655 of 12628

If the UK is so unattractive to foreigners why have we got thousands upon thousands of them still moving here every month ?

The NHS has been under funded and mis managed for years and has sod all to do with Brexit. Most of the foreign workers in the NHS excluding cleaners and other low paid jobs are not even from the EU.

We're leaving the EU Fred whether you like it or not so get over it.

Martini - 31 Mar 2017 12:42 - 6656 of 12628

Fred
You seem to miss the point I am not the one quoting things as fact, you are.

If I understood your last sentence I might respond but again it sounds like a sweeping generalisation unsupported by fact.

Fred1new - 31 Mar 2017 12:45 - 6657 of 12628

Martini.

In your opinion.

This is a long article, but sums the positions on brexit up nicely.

Fred
Now you are stating the blinding obvious. Of course what I think about your input is my opinion. Sigh

MaxK - 31 Mar 2017 12:49 - 6660 of 12628

That site can be a bit iffy, if anyone has problems, I can post the whole article.

Dil - 31 Mar 2017 12:53 - 6661 of 12628

My recent 5 week experience of the NHS when a relative was in hospital for just over five weeks was 1 French nurse , 1 East European nurse , maybe half a dozen Asian nurses and the rest of the nursing staff dealing with my relative were from the UK.

The consultant was from the UK and the Registrar was of an Asian origin but could have been born in the UK.

Cleaning staff I encountered were overwhelmingly from Eastern Europe as were the two guys who brought the tea round.

Limited example but I'm sure the NHS will be no worse off after Brexit than it was before and there will be more money available to train our own home grown nurses and doctors.

Dil - 31 Mar 2017 12:56 - 6662 of 12628

I can see there being a a shortage of prostitutes and drug dealers though.

Martini - 31 Mar 2017 13:14 - 6663 of 12628

Dil
I had not considered that possibility! I am beginning to reconsider my support for Brexit.

grannyboy - 31 Mar 2017 13:27 - 6664 of 12628

I know many British born workers, who would be willing to do these jobs but
haven't been able to, due to the fact that since the enlargement of the EU in
2004 a majority of employment agencies have advertise job vacancies directly
abroad, to the detriment of British workers..

Fred1new - 31 Mar 2017 14:35 - 6665 of 12628

Dil and Martini.

Do you have need of either?

-=-=-=-=

mentor - 31 Mar 2017 15:00 - 6666 of 12628

Freda

are you any of them?

note - I am sure some of the gangs will be looking for other places on the EU instead of the NHS

Martini - 31 Mar 2017 15:48 - 6667 of 12628

Fred
There you go again stating the bleeding obvious.

Fred1new - 31 Mar 2017 15:53 - 6668 of 12628

Not sure whether that is a yes or a no.

cynic - 31 Mar 2017 15:59 - 6669 of 12628

if he's bleeding, he should go to A&E and clog that up unnecessarily
