If they do not get some really big order soon - before 31st October - they could be looking at a full year loss of nearly 2M at prelims in Feb 2006 - that the loss at half year can explode to nearly 1M is quite horrific !

Chiva20 - 29 Jun 2005 07:27 - 6657 of 27111

Well I'm sure you can all join me in being totally staggered that ii is first to post this morning!

Here are the highlights, will print the lot if requested but I'm sure someone will beat me to it;

Substantial progress towards commercialisation of GREENSEAL technology with ASDA

Strategic alliances signed with Premier Technology Inc and Advanced Energy Inc. to enable rapid rollout of GREENSEAL in North America and elsewhere

Strategic acquisition of Biotec Holdings (Biotec) subject to shareholder approval

Successful launch of Frog Pack into the UK market

Two placings of Ordinary Shares raising a total of 13.1 million (before expenses) successfully completed with UK institutions

Financial Highlights

Turnover of 629,000 (2004: 320,000)

Loss before taxation of 960,000 (2004: 490,000)

Net cash at 30 April 2005 of 2.9 million

Phillip Lovegrove, Chairman of Stanelco, commented:

The two commercial agreements for GREENSEAL signed in the last few weeks with ASDA suppliers and the support from ASDA itself give us enormous confidence in our technology. We look forward to its continued rollout in both the UK and overseas markets as we seek to establish GREENSEAL as a must have application in the global packaging marketplace.

We also believe that the market potential for starch based films in the medium term is substantial and the recent acquisition of Biotec places Stanelco at the very forefront of this exciting market. With a healthy cash position following the well-supported institutional placings, the Board looks forward to the future with great confidence.

Actually, a lot better than I thought they might be, somewhat relieved.

Chiva20 - 29 Jun 2005 07:37 - 6659 of 27111

agreed ptholden, anxious to see how the market will take it.

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 07:41 - 6660 of 27111

Haven't seen anything frightening me , but I did read the words "several hundred" which heartened me.

bosley - 29 Jun 2005 07:42 - 6661 of 27111

morning all. a little bit dull, i thought, but not as bad as i thought they would be. all in all , looking quite positive for the future. i was hoping for news of some further developement in usa , but it all seems to be old news.

bhunt1910 - 29 Jun 2005 07:51 - 6662 of 27111

The most significant bit was the increase from 200 machines at ASDA to several hundred machines.

Me thinks we are being too impatient - and we will see more and more orders start to snowball as the weeks progress.

All in all - not bad - much better financials than I had anticipated.

Now lets see what the market thinks !!

andysmith - 29 Jun 2005 07:57 - 6663 of 27111

Baza, people are being very impatient.
To answers Bosleys question, NO I didn't buy it at Asda so RF is on sale at other supermarkets in the form of Youngs Brand.
Also, bags of scampi will not be produced on the same filling line as trays of salmon which may imply more than one machine is already retro-fitted for RF.
Before ii says owt, these are FACTS from someone in the industry.

Check it out yourself, look at a peanut bag for instance, same packing method as scampi, wide heatseals possible with crimps, check out Youngs scampi, nice thin weld seal typical of RF. Don't need Asda to check this, its on sale at Sainsburys and presumably Tesco as well.

paulmasterson1 - 29 Jun 2005 07:58 - 6664 of 27111

Biodegradable corks !
Carlco capsule project mentioned for the first time, could have been prompted by my posting the info on that 3 to 4 weeks ago :)
Only one cautionary statement, loads of bullish statements
I think a few sells by the impatient, and a lot of buying by the clever longs
Cheers,
PM

Nothing frightening in these interims.

Sequestor - 29 Jun 2005 08:14 - 6666 of 27111

GROAAAANNNN!!!!!!!!

hampi_man - 29 Jun 2005 08:15 - 6667 of 27111

As I have described above, we are making good progress on a number of projects
which have the capability to change fundamentally the dynamics of their target
markets and which will build substantial value for our shareholders. This will
not happen overnight, but we expect momentum to continue to build in coming
months both in relation to GREENSEAL(TM) and to the exciting range of products
within the Biotec portfolio.

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 08:19 - 6668 of 27111

Looking at the trading, I think the markets reaction to these interims is best described as ambivilent (though possibly spelled better!)
Alan

dawsinho - 29 Jun 2005 08:22 - 6669 of 27111

Very happy with interims. Everything is progressing well, things are going very much to plan. Recent share placing out the way, which seems to be giving the price good support. Lots more to come in the future - what else could you ask for...
Oh ASDA anticipate that several hundred machines will be adapted in the next 12 months! happy days

ptholden - 29 Jun 2005 08:43 - 6670 of 27111

Alan

Probably a little too early in the morning to be sure, but the Market reaction seems more positive than negative so far. I think I can put my tin hat away now! Being a pessemistic soul I was rather expecting a lot worse.

bosley - 29 Jun 2005 08:44 - 6671 of 27111

seq, oh dear. what's the matter this time?

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 08:57 - 6672 of 27111

PTH

Agreed, it does now appear slightly more + than -.

I just expected either a rush of buys on good news/hints or a rush of sells on poor financials. We seem to have a rush of apathy which is almost certainly for the best!!!

Alan

roma - 29 Jun 2005 09:04 - 6673 of 27111

Interims not as bad as i expected. There will always be start-up costs with any new products.Nice to see 'several hundred'machines mentioned. As the year goes on i am sure we will get a snowball effect from suppliers, then the profits will start to come in. This can only be good news for shareholders. Those of us in for the long term should see a big increase in the sp by next year, even more in the years to come.

Sequestor - 29 Jun 2005 09:21 - 6674 of 27111

bos - serious Q-why is the co. so secretive about the true amount of m/c`s around, I mean Ford motor co. would be boasting of increased sales, why do we all have to guess, read between the lines and generally be subjected to the old " mushroom management"?

cheers

hewittalan6 - 29 Jun 2005 09:29 - 6675 of 27111

Credentials from the start. I am a SEO holder and bullish about the stock.

Talk of snowballs and big increases in the sp bother me though. Firstly because it gives some members something to fire back at but more importantly, IMO, any business can only grow exponentially if it is fed hard cash. This comes from either profits or investors. I have no doubt at all that the idea is sound and that it will become an industry benchmark for food packaging (not as convinced by frogpack), but R&D and then marketing are expensive little bunnies, and that is why we are seeing a loss at the moment.
The trick now is to make Greenseal wash its own face, and more important than an RNS stating X number of machines sold to ASDA suppliers is one stating that the Greenseal project is one stating that it is profitable. This may be sometime coming, but I am in for the long haul, and so I am a little more cautious than some posters. My only real concern therefore is that profits from Greenseal (When they come, not if) are eaten up by R&D or marketing on a non starter.
There, cautious bit out of the way.
LETS MAKE SOME SERIOUS MONEY, SEO.
