THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

if fred ever learnt that it's quality not quantity that was more effective - ask any advertising agency - then some might pay at least some attention to his perpetual stream of diatribe

asking him to post anything balanced would be like asking the russians, chinese and americans to collaborate in sorting out the multiple disasters in m/e

Happy New Year Stan! You really need to get out more, who needs enemies when you have Fred for a friend LOL!!

Fred1new - 03 Jan 2016 10:10 - 66663 of 81564

As states the advert for the neo-con party who have bought or bribed the media.

Chris Carson - 03 Jan 2016 10:18 - 66664 of 81564

Needle stuck again. Fred, is like a Dansette record player from the sixties, stuck in Mono.

Jeremy Corbyn 'planning to replace Hilary Benn with Emily Thornberry' in reshuffle

I think Corbyn is a sleeper planted by the tories to destroy the Labour party , just like the Police planted officers to spy on the Greenham common women. Mine you sleeping with Diane Abbott went beyond the call of duty

cynic - 03 Jan 2016 11:50 - 66667 of 81564

hoho ..... but good watching isn't it, and it really wouldn't matter which country's team was batting

weather is just so vile today that am just trying to keep myself occupied indoors with the cricket and making some minestrone of kinds

cooked off a couple of lamb breasts yesterday so have some nice stock; soaked (pinto) beans o'night and and cooked those this morning
after that, it was just a case of putting it all together with assorted veg and a bit of chilli and shall now let it simmer for a couple of hours
shall add the thoroughly de-fatted breast meat for the last 20/30 minutes, but it'll all be better tomorrow anyway

Hope England win....they will perhaps declare....

cynic - 03 Jan 2016 12:23 - 66669 of 81564

cricket
wow!
that was just terrific stuff to watch ....... stokes's run-out was also some fine cricket by AB considering he dropped a sitter before recovering and doing the biz

cynic - 03 Jan 2016 13:17 - 66670 of 81564

Cargo Homestore
this chain was formerly known as Carpenter's and as far as i can tell, is not owned by any larger entity

anyway, be aware that this is the first casualty of the new year, though i believe that the on-line biz will continue to trade, as least for now

MaxK - 03 Jan 2016 23:56 - 66671 of 81564

I'd never heard of them, but looking at their site, it's no surprise, overpriced tat at best.

Not too sure about the cricket now....England can still win....but not easy.....now I know why the odds were good....

cynic - 04 Jan 2016 11:38 - 66674 of 81564

for sure england won't lose, but unless there's something dramatic, a dull draw is clearly 1/10 ...... still, yesterday's fireworks were fun to watch

cynic - 04 Jan 2016 11:43 - 66675 of 81564

saudi
not surprisingly, the noises coming from that arena are very different from what one hears in uk

the saudi (sunni) line is that these guys were militants intent on fomenting unrest and more within the kingdom and were treated accordingly

given that both sunnis and shias are muslims, this all feels akin to the irish problem but on a much more serious and brutal scale

aldwickk - 04 Jan 2016 14:19 - 66676 of 81564

From April 2016, non-EU migrant workers will need to earn £35,000 to qualify for settlement, a move that will decimate a significant proportion of nurses working within the NHS.
With the average national wage for a nurse in the UK at circa £23,000, this is a disproportionate measure taken by the UK government in an attempt to limit immigration.

Most of them come from Asian like the Philippines

Haystack - 04 Jan 2016 14:23 - 66677 of 81564

Nurses will not be a problem as there is going to be a number of exceptions the new policy.

aldwickk - 04 Jan 2016 14:35 - 66678 of 81564

What about the many carers who look after the elderly who can't afford to pay for agency nurses

TANKER - 04 Jan 2016 14:55 - 66679 of 81564

WELL back home for a week then back to the sun .
the uk is a joke when listening to the Spanish they will not allow migrants to claim
much at all that is why we get rid of the scum .

from my friends in spain
the uk is a cesspit of corruption
and if labour ever were to get power then the end for the locals .
but alas it will never happen under CORBYN THE MAN WHO IS A NUTTER AND A LIAR WILL POST SOME TRUE FACTS ABOUT HIM NEXT MONTH THAT HE WOULD NOT LIKE TO SEE BUT FACT A DIRTY OLD MAN

jimmy b - 04 Jan 2016 14:59 - 66680 of 81564

No need to worry TANKER he has absolutely no chance of ever getting elected ..

The UK does need a strong leader right now and i'm not sure if Cameron is it ..
