THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

temporary wives will always love both you and your wallet

Fred1new - 05 Jan 2016 10:10 - 66698 of 81564

Manuel.

Rather than shooting your fingers off, Get Paul Mason's Postcapitalism and try to read it and then sit back and do your best to understand it.

You will have some difficulties, but do try.

cynic - 05 Jan 2016 10:22 - 66699 of 81564

typically changing the subject ..... why on earth should i bother with some gobbledegook book? ...... life's too short for such

jimmy b - 05 Jan 2016 10:27 - 66700 of 81564

Your not still reading Fred's rubbish are you ? his brain is so biased you will never get any debate and bare in mind this is a bloke who thinks Corbyn and Diane Abbott should be running Britain ..

jimmy b - 05 Jan 2016 10:48 - 66701 of 81564

See they are still stoning women to death in the ME , i suppose the scum still live in the middle ages .

Fred1new - 05 Jan 2016 10:50 - 66702 of 81564

Manuel,

That is probably why you remain ignorant with your barrow boy mentality.

Fred1new - 05 Jan 2016 10:51 - 66703 of 81564

JB,

You are obviously adding mind reading to you inadequate skills.

Have a good day!

just occasionally ...... the saudi "horror story" is interesting however

like it or not, one has to accept that the death penalty and corporal (nearly wrote corporate!) punishment are commonplace in the region

thus, in saudi eyes, the shiite cleric nimr al-nimr was a militant preacher, arguably planted by iran, intent on spreading dissent and worse ...... this is deemed treason with only one penalty applicable

saudi would have had no problem at all in dealing with abu hamza!

whether or not the charges against nimr might have been at least reasonably provable i do not know ...... nor do i have any idea of the strength of the charges against the other 40, but i suspect they were all deemed to have taken a significant part in an attempted uprising

that saudi's actions were politically imprudent is another matter, but the saudis are rarely interested in such niceties, though a change in attitude might be forced upon them in coming years

jimmy b - 05 Jan 2016 10:57 - 66705 of 81564

Is that Fred posting stupid cartoons again .... Here's one he might like ..

The neo-cons future with an icon of corruptibility!

Fred1new - 05 Jan 2016 11:00 - 66708 of 81564

.

jimmy b - 05 Jan 2016 11:09 - 66709 of 81564

Farage was bang on last night on TV ,he said Cameron will try to tell us he has a deal on benefits for migrants but he will not be addressing migration and the free movement of people .
What with the new camp at Dunkirk and the masses that will be attacking the trucks there as well, hopefully it will all add to us voting out of the EU this summer.

cynic - 05 Jan 2016 11:21 - 66710 of 81564

jimmy - probably not far off the mark

Haystack - 05 Jan 2016 11:23 - 66711 of 81564

YouGov poll, out today, is still finding a very close EU referendum race –

41% would vote to stay, 42% would vote to leave. With the margins of error, that is pretty even.

It looks like the 17% undecided will make the difference. I think we will end up staying in due to fear.

cynic - 05 Jan 2016 11:31 - 66712 of 81564

also probably correct, even if hardly a ringing endorsement

2517GEORGE - 05 Jan 2016 11:45 - 66713 of 81564

I am not certain which way I will vote but am leaning towards the out camp. DC was 'armed' with pathetic requests, he should have demanded much more. The depth of resentment of EU policies is being under-estimated imv.

I'm sure the thousands of people who have suffered terrible flooding of their homes will not have to think twice which way to vote, (2000 Law making it illegal to dredge).

H is your wish to remain in the EU?

TANKER - 05 Jan 2016 11:50 - 66714 of 81564

eu vote all my family and hundreds of close friends will vote out nothing will change our views it rotten and corrupt

get us out now

Haystack - 05 Jan 2016 12:00 - 66715 of 81564

At the moment, I would vote to leave. However, I can't see that happening.

cynic - 05 Jan 2016 12:03 - 66716 of 81564

george - in fact there are many good reasons NOT to dredge, and that is just a minor cause of the flooding

MrT - so if eu is totally corrupt as you also insist is the uk, where are you going to live? ..... saudi perhaps?
