How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

WOODIE - 05 Dec 2005 18:49 - 6678 of 10502

why is he still trading at 1.5-1.6?

Fundamentalist - 05 Dec 2005 18:59 - 6679 of 10502

Woodie

If the media is to be believed he should be 100+ but i think there is still an expectation that this has another twist in the tail.

Managed to catch one of the big drfits so my book is nice and green at the mo (my smallest green is redknapp as i still dont think it will happen but well see)

My big greens are:
Sanchez
McLeish
Burley
Robson
Kerr

What I don't understand is Portsmouth jibbing at paying compensation equivalent to a top player's wages for 4-6 weeks for a manager they genuinely, it would seem, would like to have!
It just doesn't make sense to me. Or why Redknapp doesn't pay it himself out of the large bonus he MIGHT get keeping Portsmouth in the Premier League, IF he is so keen to go back.
Whatever happens I doubt if he will ever be treated with any respect in the future - on the South coast at least. By either party.
And with a permitted link to Sanchez it could be nearly over - though, like Woodie, I don't understand the odds on H!

I think it is just Pompey and Saints being stubborn. If Lowe or Mandaric concede then Harry is in.

Personally still think hr is the done deal. Been a great trade for me, all green and very green on hr and san. All green now on Bir v W Ham small stakes

Other than my cock up on Sanchez I am ok. Some odd ones in there as well. If Joe Royle gets the job I'll be up 36k! I've got 10 sitting on Joe at 1000-1 if anybody wants it!

Evening All

Hi Bak

have had a few quid on Inter against Rangers, maily for a bit of interest, mainly cos i dont like rangers. Inter not playing a full side but got Martens and Adriano up front - 20 mins for a goal at 5.0

bakko - 06 Dec 2005 21:16 - 6686 of 10502

Hi Steve

Just got in on a draw on Chelsea game and looking to get out for about 20 ticks.

Scripophilist - 06 Dec 2005 21:18 - 6687 of 10502

Chelsea v Liverpool is a poor game but the official on the line is just terrible. Never have I seen such bad decisions at this level.

bakko - 06 Dec 2005 21:20 - 6688 of 10502

As long as it carries on being terrible and nobody scores then it fine by me.

Harlosh - 06 Dec 2005 21:20 - 6689 of 10502

Currently on the draw in the Rangers game

bakko - 06 Dec 2005 21:25 - 6690 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 06 Dec 2005 21:32 - 6692 of 10502

Scripophilist - 06 Dec 2005 21:32 - 6693 of 10502

Lay Mcleish for the Pompey job if Rangers get through, surely!

Harlosh - 06 Dec 2005 21:33 - 6694 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 06 Dec 2005 21:35 - 6695 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 06 Dec 2005 21:37 - 6696 of 10502
