Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Cameron and Osborne put down the economic collapse in 2008 down to Labour government.
The cons have been in power for 5.5 years, so is he preparing for his place in history?
Is he preparing for his future failures?
Or, is he going to blame the immigrants for his problems this time?
Is this one going to be down to his cuts

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the mass sexual assault of women by groups of men in Cologne is part of a pattern and suggested a possible link with migrants for the first time.
In her strongest comments yet on the New Year’s Eve incident in Germany’s fourth-largest city, Merkel said Thursday that the assaults touch on the “coexistence of cultures” in Germany and urged authorities to ensure that “everything is brought to light” in the investigation.

Europe's Refugee Crisis
“The events there raise very serious questions that go beyond Cologne -- whether there are connections, common patterns of behavior and is there something like contempt for women among certain groups,” Merkel told a news conference in Berlin. “We’ll need to examine whether we’ve done everything that’s needed in terms of expulsions from Germany, so we send a clear signal to those who aren’t willing to obey our legal standards.”
Cologne police said Thursday they have received 121 criminal complaints from women who were attacked around the city’s main train station on Dec. 31, with about three quarters concerning alleged sexual offenses. Sixteen men, most of them from North Africa, have been identified as possible suspects, according to a statement on the Cologne police’s website. Police in Hamburg, Germany’s second-biggest city, said 70 women filed complaints saying they were sexually harassed on New Year’s Eve, mostly in the St. Pauli entertainment district.
“I don’t think that these are isolated cases,” Merkel said.
“The feeling among women of being unprotected and defenseless is unbearable

A Jew was stranded on a desert island for 25 years. When he was rescued it was discovered that he had built two synagogues. He was asked why he built two. He said, "well that one is the one I always go to and the other one is the one that I never go to".

I think Merkel is still working for the Stasi.
First, she invites the problem
Then she has second thoughts (supposedly)
Then she thinks there might be a problem with inviting hundreds of thousands of misogynistic young men to an equality seeking €urope
Any alarm bells ringing out there?

aldo - i never suggested the women were lying, but no matter
what i find interesting is that merkel says those involved could find themselves being deported, and i dare say pronto at that ..... how come uk never manages such obvious action, allowing the excuse for to remain being that they have a pet cat that needs looking after?

From your 2nd link MaxK--
"There hasn't been this kind of harassment on previous New Year's Eves or other occasions for that matter... This is a completely new phenomenon in Helsinki," the Finnish capital's deputy police chief Ilkka Koskimaki told AFP.
Security guards hired to patrol the city on New Year's Eve told police there had been "widespread sexual harassment" at a central square where around 20,000 people had gathered for celebrations.
Three sexual assaults allegedly took place at Helsinki's central railway station on New Year's Eve, where around 1,000 mostly Iraqi asylum seekers had converged.
"Police have... received information about three cases of sexual assault, of which two have been filed as complaints," Helsinki police said in a statement.
"The suspects were asylum seekers. The three were caught and taken into custody on the spot," Ilkka Koskimaki told reporters.

max - it was the following observation from the second of your articles above that i find so interesting ..... and similar would seem to have been the case in helsinki
Dozens of apparently coordinated sexual assaults against women took place on New Year's Eve in the western German city of Cologne
who is doing the orchestrating? ....... the motive can be readily guessed though not with 100% certainty

I don't think you need right wingers to organise youths , who are basically as the age suggests will be looking for sex . It doesn't take much orchestrating really that's what youths do , they have nothing to do all day but conjure up this crime . Filth . You seem obsessed c .

that at least a large proportion were non-white is not denied, but you seem to say that they all ganged up spontaneously and it is that with which i disagree
perhaps you'ld be amazed how easy it is to manipulate people to act in ways that are outside their norm, especially if blame can be passed - eg i was only acting on orders
