THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

How many innocent "witches" have been burnt?

It is interesting how of the far right have seized on the opportunities for quasi-political reasons.

Damn any other groups other than their own without looking at their own failings comes to mind.

Hostile to others while attenpting to excuse their own self-interested behaviours and actions.

I think it more reasonable to consider the "obsession and actions" of Hitler than Merkel's "said" actions when considering the actions of the far right in Germany and seemingly far right in this country.

I can't read Fred so his view doesn't matter to me ..

I don't get your logic cynic but as you often say we will agree to disagree no problem there.
Why wouldn't Syrian young men be in groups ? they obviously would stick with there own .
And as a last point i don't think that all the Syrians who came to Germany would act that way but obviously many did .

Chris Carson - 08 Jan 2016 10:17 - 66886 of 81564

Can I put you through to someone who gives a dam what you think Freda! You plastic socialist.

jimmy b - 08 Jan 2016 10:19 - 66887 of 81564

LOL !!! is he at it again the useless lump of lard ,someone who would do nothing to help others just spout shite ..

iturama - 08 Jan 2016 10:23 - 66888 of 81564

Cynic, for some reason you are in denial It was very obvious to all, and particularly Hungary, that allowing hordes of predominately young and able men into the EU would lead to trouble. The behaviour of some at the borders was enough clue.

These people naturally gang together and the women in Cologne were easy targets for the animals among them. The women had every right to be there. It is their city and there are no no-go areas for them. Yet.

It doesn't take much for some to start harrassing women for others to join in. It is entertainment for them. I find the idea that you think these louts were somehow manipulated as laughable. They are the ones that have been manipulating the system.
As far Merkel being able to deport them, well let's see. I think it will snow in hell before we see the first planeload leaving. She had to say didn't she?

A little thought I have now and again is the old Westerns you know 50s 60s where you have the pilgrims and bible bashers singing and praying there way along the frontiers and then the Outlaws come along , rape murder pilage and take out these people , just reminds me of future events . ( THIS thought is not bourne out of truth in any way it's just made up in my fecking head and bears no relation to true events at all . that's for you know who .)

Cameron closing in on 'four years' deal on in-work benefits to deter EU migrant workers

Outlines of EU deal emerging that will allow David Cameron to claim victory on his key pre-referendum demand to curb benefits for EU workers

By Peter Foster, Europe Editor

8:00PM GMT 07 Jan 2016

David Cameron is poised to do a deal with Europe that would strip away incentives for EU workers to come to Britain - a move that could hand him a big "win" ahead of next summer’s planned referendum on Britain’s EU membership, The Telegraph has learned.

The outlines of a deal acceptable to all sides have emerged following December’s European Council summit where Mr Cameron made an impassioned case for Britain’s need to curb the wave of migration that has hit the country since it opened its doors to new EU states in 2004.

Mr Cameron had demanded the right to make non-British EU workers wait four years before claiming in-work benefits, but was roundly rebuffed at the summit on the grounds that it would infringe the core EU principle of non-discrimination.

However the Telegraph understands that European states are now offering Mr Cameron a deal that would require new British workers aged 18-22 to wait four years for in-work benefits, while simultaneously finding a back-door "fix" to ensure those workers were not left out of pocket.

“It was clear from the December summit that discrimination was simply not possible, so this is the solution that a number of European countries have agreed is the only one that works,” a European diplomatic source with knowledge of the negotiations said.

The source added that following the summit the onus was placed on Britain to find a reform to the UK’s own benefits system that would enable the Treasury to make up the difference for British workers through a separate “social payment”.

The solution would satisfy EU legal concerns on discrimination and take advantage of recent European Court of Justice opinions accepting that EU migrants can be denied some kinds of non-contributory social security benefits.

'It’s in his party manifesto, it was in his letter to [Donald] Tusk, everyone understands Cameron needs a ‘win’ on benefits within the limits of the Treaties - which are broad'

EU source

Just well said iturama that's all.

cynic - 08 Jan 2016 10:37 - 66893 of 81564

hey ho ...... i seem to be the lone ranger (fred doesn't count!) coming from a different angle from you chaps and certainly one who does not wish to follow the herd or succumb to peer pressure - there's a parallel there don't you think

i shall now attempt to employ myself more gainfully by working on a contract for saudi!

"i shall now attempt to employ myself more gainfully by working on a contract for saudi!"

Working? what you

cynic - 08 Jan 2016 10:43 - 66896 of 81564

i have now read iturama's post and yes i do agree with a good % of it

i would take mild issue with part of it ......
without getting dragged back in, there is a difference between having a right to walk around somewhere at any time of the day or night and there are also areas in any city where no sensible woman (especially) would or should go at night

cynic - 08 Jan 2016 10:44 - 66897 of 81564

stan - i knew you'ld like it that the contract is for saudi :-)

Fred1new - 08 Jan 2016 10:47 - 66898 of 81564

It,

I suggest you look at "herd" theory and how it is utilised by "leaders" of "groups".

Might modify your opinion.

''there are also areas in any city where no sensible woman (especially) would or should go at night''-----------I agree, but a Festive market when accompanied by their partner is not one of those areas imo.

Never been to the ME as it seems a very manufactured place and to hot.

cynic - 08 Jan 2016 11:24 - 66903 of 81564

dubai is certainly a rather strange place, but there are worse places to go on biz
may through october can be pretty hot, but it's the humidity in the evening that gets at you if you're by the sea
