A former paratrooper was reportedly beaten “to within an inch of his life” by a prison gang in an alleged “terrorist attack”.
Craig Jones, who is on remand in Hewell prison, was assaulted by eight men in his cell, The Times reported.
Among the gang members is believed to be a Muslim prisoner, jailed for ten years for causing the death of a soldier by dangerous driving in 2014.

Jones, formerly of the 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, is believed to have been targeted at the West Midlands prison because of his military service.

The former paratrooper suffered a fractured eye socket and cuts to his face, a source told The Times: "[They] beat him to within an inch of his life. It was a major incident”.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: "A prisoner at HMP Hewell was taken to hospital following an incident on Saturday 9 January.
“The circumstances are being investigated by both the police and the prison, and we will take action against anyone found to have been involved.”
Jones is expected to return to prison after being treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, which has a military ward for Army, Navy and RAF personnel.

The Muslim inmate was sent to prison in October after he jumped a red light at nearly 70mph and smashed into the back of a soldier’s car, killing him instantly.
He attempted to flee the scene but was restrained by members of the public.
The driver had served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and received full military honours at his funeral.
The outgoing chief inspector of prisons Nick Hardwick warned last month that Muslim extremists were recruiting inside prisons and radicalising vulnerable inmates.
Prison governors are also said to be concerned about the influence and power of Muslim gangs in prison.


According to prison sources, the attack on Jones was not being investigated as a racist incident and was thought to be linked to an argument about tobacco.
HMP Hewell holds 1,266 prisoners. An inspection report in 2014 said the prison had “significant levels of violence, some of it very serious”.
The report found some violent incidents were not centrally recorded.
It added that bullying and violent incidents “were often linked to debt, which in turn was related to delays for new arrivals in receiving their first orders from the prison shop, especially tobacco.”

Call me stupid but why put service people in with terrorists , it's asking for trouble .

It was men of Arab appearance or several hundred German women are lying ,either that or thousands of German men suddenly decided to attack their own women .
Those that are guilty are surely not fleeing war ? if you had landed in a safe country that has helped you why would you do that and risk being sent home .

I am sure that out of the hundreds of thousands that invaded Europe last summer not all of them want to cause trouble .

I don't know the levels of molestation ,i have not studied it or practised it .

The fact is we know know what happened ,large groups of men surrounded women and molested them in some cases raped , SEND THEM HOME !!!!!! NO MERCY....

where is Watford? My geography north stops at Hendon or the North Circular. I have heard strange tales of tribes further north who indulge in clog dancing and other primitave rituals.
