hilary - 10 Mar 2004 13:56 - 677 of 11056

Unlucky Beebs. It will rally at some stage to form a high ....... just be patient and then short it. It'll still be here tomorrow.

Sue 42 - 11 Mar 2004 08:20 - 678 of 11056

Anyone know when the CMC MArch Q expires on cable? mine is now higher than the rolling bet so I'm wondering if it has expired

edit just found it is Monday.

hilary - 12 Mar 2004 07:10 - 679 of 11056

Nice entry point for longs atm. Double bottom (fingers x'd) on the Cable and higher low on the . Cable stops on a move below 17923 being the intraday low from yesterday.

hilary - 12 Mar 2004 08:01 - 680 of 11056

There should be a lot of short stops positioned on the Cable at around 18080 and at about 12380 on the . If they're triggered, you could easily see a sharp spike upwards.

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 08:43 - 681 of 11056

long cable 179.70

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 08:55 - 682 of 11056

think i'll stick with the ftse in future !

hilary - 12 Mar 2004 09:56 - 683 of 11056

Somehow, Beebs, I'm still in the trade despite it going through my stop briefly. Don't know if it was me who'd set my stop at the wrong level or a dealer's generosity. Hey Ho.

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 10:13 - 684 of 11056

same here hills, so busy trading ftse didn't put a stop on,
turned round and saw it at 179.10....oops,

however, an hours a long time in the life of our dear friend
the cable, so still long, and now in profit.....

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 11:08 - 685 of 11056

another hour rushes by,
and bang goes the profit,

just like a whores draws today !

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 11:18 - 686 of 11056

if we fail to break 180 on the next run up i'm out,

or is 180 wishful thinking......

Beeblebrox - 12 Mar 2004 13:36 - 687 of 11056

yo-yo job,
very frustrating morning on this one,
nearly had to put a margin call on that
quid you owe me.....

this one gets better, and would you
believe the ftse short gets worse

zarif - 16 Mar 2004 13:36 - 688 of 11056

Hello everyone:
Where are all the FX traders hiding???
Gone bit too quiet on here so decided to bring it from the bottom depths to the top where it belongs.

zarif: I dunno. Where's that Hils?

hilary - 16 Mar 2004 15:57 - 690 of 11056

I'm still here MM. If you weren't already long, you should've been long from the upside break of the pennant this morning.

zarif - 16 Mar 2004 16:44 - 691 of 11056

Hilary nice to have u back.
What are your views on cable - Dollar Bull?
Managed a couple of shorts earlier -nothing spectacular.

zarif,

The Euro and the Cable are both forming higher lows and highs on the 5 minute chart, although there is resistance to a downtrend at just below 18400 on the 20 day chart. Any move upwards over the next 2 or 3 days will likely see resistance selling there.

I can't see the Fed increasing rates tonight, so they should both go up. Long stops on a move below 17939 (Cable) and 12209 (Euro) being the last lows as a precaution.

zarif - 16 Mar 2004 17:43 - 693 of 11056

Thanks Hilary:
long cable atm.
Will adjust stops as suggested.

zarif,

If those stops are a little too far off the current price, may I suggest that you wait until you get confirmation of the fresh low (which you should get ahead of the Fed), and then adjust your stop loss to a move below that new low?

Once the low is in place, you should also be able to connect the low from today with the low from yesterday to form a support line to the uptrend. You will then be able to use that as a rising stop loss, staying long in the trade until the line is broken.

zarif - 16 Mar 2004 18:12 - 695 of 11056

Brilliant advise Hilary -many thanks again.
