THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

cynic - 09 Feb 2016 11:34 - 67661 of 81564

so how are you going to VOTE fred? ..... or will you disdain from so doing lest you get your hands remotely dirty as you climb off your soapbox?

Fred1new - 09 Feb 2016 11:41 - 67662 of 81564

Manuel,

Read back and you may find the answer to your question!

PS, but I am not an egocentric, narcissistic little Englander like some!

cynic - 09 Feb 2016 11:49 - 67663 of 81564

are you actually going to VOTE .... you know; go down to the polling station and put an X in a box

btw, why do you insist on perpetually deriding and belittling anyone who wants to get out of eu and/or to put a stop to open-door immigration?

there are certainly very good reasons for exiting ..... just as there are for staying in

Another fellow who likes to ask questions and expects an answer but won't answer one himself .

iturama - 09 Feb 2016 12:45 - 67671 of 81564

Socialists are very kind hearted and only want to redistribute other peoples wealth. While rewarding themselves very nicely of course. Mustn't take the socialist lark too far.

Stan - 09 Feb 2016 12:47 - 67672 of 81564

Oh Tory boys.. your so so angry these days -):

Haystack - 09 Feb 2016 12:48 - 67673 of 81564

France may say at the moment that they won't change the deal, but that does not bind them in the future. Hollande stands no chance of being reelected, so you can expect probably Sarkozy next time. The immigrants won't need to rush the ferries. If France doesn't check papers anymore then they just buy tickets,. The ferry companies are not responsible for checking papers.

I think you are guilty of projection.

Which is the position of isolationists and a little Englanders.

Rule Britannia.

Up your empire!

Fix bayonets!

But for somebody who has squelched me, you seem to have a lot of trouble with postings you don't read!

Stan - 09 Feb 2016 12:51 - 67675 of 81564

Spot on Fred.

cynic - 09 Feb 2016 12:54 - 67676 of 81564

i'm sure he can glean plenty of what you have written from the response(s) you get from those who have bothered to read your predictable diatribes

Haystack - 09 Feb 2016 12:54 - 67677 of 81564

Socialism: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbour.
Communism: You have two cows. You give them to the government, and the government then gives you some milk.
Capitalism: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

Haystack - 09 Feb 2016 12:57 - 67678 of 81564

Socialism benefits the few at the expense of the many: Socialism is superior to capitalism in one primary way: It offers more security. It's almost like an extremely expensive insurance policy that dramatically cuts into your quality of life, but insures that if worse comes to worse, you won't drop below a very minimal lifestyle. For the vast majority of people, this would be a terrible deal. On the other hand, if you're lazy, completely incompetent or alternately, just have a streak of very bad luck, the meager benefits provided by socialism may be very appealing. So a socialist society forces the many to suffer in order to make it easier for the few. It's just as Winston Churchill once noted, "The inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."
