THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Because Johnson wants to be PM Max.. gaud help us if that ever happens.

Haystack - 21 Feb 2016 18:17 - 68039 of 81564

Boris's calculation is that if he supports the in side then he alienates most of his party. They will then reject him in a vote for leader when the parliamentary party votes to reduce the candidates to just two. I doubt that he believes in leaving. He has made a safe political choice.

MaxK - 21 Feb 2016 22:56 - 68041 of 81564

Can you copy and paste it Haystack?

It's behind a paywall.

jimmy b - 21 Feb 2016 23:46 - 68042 of 81564

Stan - 22 Feb 2016 07:38 - 68044 of 81564

jimmy b - 22 Feb 2016 08:00 - 68045 of 81564

At least he's done the right thing .

Stan - 22 Feb 2016 08:28 - 68046 of 81564

That remains to be seen, so you agree with me that he is a prairy hat?

"The demographics of the European Union show a highly populated, culturally diverse union of 28 member states. As of 1 January 2015, the population of the EU is about 508.2 million people.[1]"

What strikes me is that the majority of the 28 members seem to be relatively content in the "strengths" of the EU, while a smaller number of malcontents wish to leave and destroy the EU.

It would seem more reasonable to remain a member and negotiate changes of its organisation, but when is at odds with the majority it may be sensible to reevaluate once stance.

MaxK - 22 Feb 2016 09:40 - 68048 of 81564

The majority are happy, happy to be on the receiving end of the Brussels Danegeld.

Where are these ackers coming from?

cynic - 22 Feb 2016 09:46 - 68049 of 81564

EU TRADE DEFICIT
as so often, this is misleading
uk may well have a deficit with eu taken as a whole, but it is an agglomeration of 27 countries
i think uk only runs a deficit with france, germany and perhaps one or two others

iturama - 22 Feb 2016 10:12 - 68050 of 81564

The point being? If the UK runs an overall deficit, principally with France and Germany, but a surplus with others, that means that Germany and France have an even greater interest in staying sweet with the UK. Who else matters?

TANKER - 22 Feb 2016 12:29 - 68052 of 81564

NO THOUGHT FOR THESE CHILDREN YOU ONLY HERE ONE SIDE OF THE STORY
ALL OUR SERVICES BEING DETSOYED BY IMMIGRANTS
CAMERON SAID IN THE COMMONS SAID THAT THE AVGE IN WORK BENEFITS TO MIGRANTS WAS BETWEEN 6K AND 10K A YEAR THE OLD AGE PENSION IS FROM APRIL FOR TODAYS PENSIONERS 6200 A YEAR THE MIGRANTS GET MORE IN WORK BENEFITS THAN A PENSIONER AS TO LIVE ON

A DAM DISGRACE CAMERON ALSO SAID THAT 2.3 MILLIION MIGRANTS WORK FOR THE MIN WAGE PAY NO TAXES THEN THEY LIVE 8OR 9 TO A HOME PAYING ONLY ONE COUNCIL TAX NO WONDER THE SERVICES ARE BEING DESTROYED

SO COME ON YOU LEFT WINGERS TELL ME ITS WRONG AND CAMERON WAS A LIAR ON THE NUMBERS

TANKER - 22 Feb 2016 12:35 - 68053 of 81564

FOR ALL THOSE THAT SAY WE ARE BETTER OFF IN THE EU FOR THE BENEFITS

I spend a lot of time in the eu can not get any nhs cover they ignore the health card
hospitals leave you waiting hours and give you very little help tell you to go home for treatment unless you pay or have good insurance cover .
in Poland you get nothing no help malta is good spain very little Portugal poor
france go home .
Germany want payment or will not see you
all these eu countries only give emergency treatment then charge the uk
yet the EU DEMANDS THAT THE UK GIVE ALL THE BENEFITS TO EU MIGRANTS

WE GET NO IN THE EU IT IS ALL ONE WAY TRAFFIC

Well TANKER i don't know if the 90's count but i split the back of my head open rather badly in Wroclaw Poland in the 90's and was taken to a hospital where a Lady Doctor had me x rayed and then stitched me up .
The hospital was like something out of victorian Britain but very clean and i was treated about as well as you could be ,i have to say they looked after me for a couple of hours to the highest standard and i never forgot that.
