THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

So, Dave's deal appears to be worthless..

The Justice Secretary has argued that until the treaties are modified the European Court of Justice is “not bound” by the agreement

Who's right, the solicitor general or Michael Gove?

In Facts, a fact checking service that supports membership, comes down on the side of Michael Gove, writes Matthew Holehouse in Brussels.

The deal may be legally binding on its signatories, but it cannot preempt the verdict of the ECJ and the Parliament which are required to pass elements of the deal.

That means the emergency brake can be torn to pieces, either by MEPs or judges on Luxembourg.

I don't think Boris would be good and i don't think he will ever be in the top job .
A strong government meaning how much of a disaster would Labour be in the next few years .

cynic - 24 Feb 2016 10:44 - 68241 of 81564

if you get labour elected, suggest you find the nearest bridge or high building!

Why wait?

Why don't both of you hold hands and jump now?

No matter what our politicians say, a ‘stay’ vote gives the EU a mandate to reach across the channel and strip our nation of its sovereignty and freedom.

If Britain tries to leave the EU, the rules state that we must negotiate our way out. That means we sit at a table with the European Council… and we cannot leave until they “agree” terms acceptable to them.

As for the new PM Michael Gove, he would be the person to do the negotiations with the EU, and lead Britain after Brexit.

George
There was an interesting poll that found 28% of UKIP supporters would vote to stay in the EU.

You could always go and live in a foreign country , and be a foreigner and when you are a foreigner in that country you couldn't really complain about too many foreigners could you really , that's my thinking at the moment , better than throwing yourself off a building . And you could laugh at blighty from afar .

Stan - Re the dog. What were the Police supposed to do in those circumstances? If you were present ...... Stand there with your finger up your arse and watch as a driver swerved to avoid it causing a multiple pile up and loss of human life. Easy to criticise when not present eh!

2517GEORGE - 24 Feb 2016 12:57 - 68253 of 81564

H that is an interesting poll, 28%. That is a high %age considering they (presumably) vote for a political party whose aim is independence.

It is strange. The poll was done by theTimes.

A number of UKIP supporters are attracted by its stance on immigration. It may be that it is changes to immigration and not leaving the EU that matters to them.

cynic - 24 Feb 2016 13:56 - 68255 of 81564

for better or worse, a large % of the populace is fixated on this immigration issue
while it is an important factor, there are many others that are even more important, some even being unquantifiable

Migrants or immigrants I don't think the German hospitals are very happy as they are apparently being overwhelmed by all sorts , I doubt it's just us concerned about it .
