Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

"Stan - Re the dog. What were the Police supposed to do in those circumstances? If you were present ...... Stand there with your finger up your arse and watch as a driver swerved to avoid it causing a multiple pile up and loss of human life. Easy to criticise when not present eh!"
I don't really have to spell it out do I CC.. all right then as you ask.
What happens when there is a crash that takes up a lane or lanes? The police normally slow the traffic down then stop it , then position their cars (one on each carriage way) with all blue lights flashing across the lanes.. and then catch the mutt assuming that they are fit enough to actually run these days and not the same lazy b..stards who sit in transits drinking tea up and down the country on match days outside 92 grounds every Saturday 9 months of the year.
I and millions of others are fed up to the back teeth having to listen to some of these officers moaning about some excuse or other why they can't do this or that.. but not being able to catch a dog just about takes the (dog) biscuit.. if you'll pardon the link -):

Seriously Stan, I like a challenge but running around on the A55 trying to catch a dog that doesn't want to be caught isn't one of them. Read the article again when sober :0)
Dog running loose on motorway deliberately run over and killed by police
The dog had been running loose on the A55 at varying locations between the Llanfairfechan roundabout and the Conwy tunnel in Wales
By Agency1:16AM GMT 24 Feb 2016
A dog that was running loose on a motorway was deliberately run down and killed by traffic police, North Wales Police have confirmed.
In a statement issued on their website the force said that the dog had been running loose on the A55 at varying locations between the Llanfairfechan roundabout and the Conwy tunnel.
Despite attempts by the Roads Policing Unit to catch the dog, it continued to run in and out of swerving traffic that was travelling in excess of 70mph on an unlit carriageway.
The incident – which had "potential for a serious collision" happened during the early hours of Monday.
An officer who had tried to take hold of the dog was bitten.
Chief Inspector Darren Wareing said that several calls were received by the North Wales Police control room shortly after 3am and the decision to take action was not taken "lightly".
He said: "The only safe option was to run the dog over at sufficient speed to ensure that it was destroyed and would not suffer. Other methods of destruction were considered, but were ruled out on the grounds of public safety."
Mr Wareing said that several attempts were made to catch the dog.
• Man run over by truck 'driven' by his dog
"One car and an HGV had to swerve to avoid the dog whilst the officers remained on foot in the carriageway. The potential for a serious collision was present throughout, and in the circumstances there was no alternative way that officers could contain the dog and minimise risks to motorists."
He added: "Fast roads such as the A55 present inherent risks, and to have vehicles including an HGV having to swerve in the dark was deemed unacceptable as the officers witnessed a number of near misses, and were highly concerned about the potential aftermath of a high-speed collision.
"Both officers have their own dogs and did not take this decision lightly. Due to the seriousness of the incident it needed bringing to a conclusion quickly for the safety of all concerned."

Hays likes to find these polls. 72% of UKIP supporters who read the Times will vote to come out of the EU
And how many SUN readers would vote to stay in. Hays got it partly right 72% of the UK will vote out

Not 72% of Times readers. It was 72% of UKIP supporters in a poll conducted by Yougov.

Leave are currently ahead, but referendum polls this far out are a poor guide, and the underlying figures favour Remain
Our latest EU referendum voting intentions are 37% Remain, 38% Leave, 25% Don’t know or wouldn’t vote
Historically referendum voting intention polls have changed a lot in the run up to the vote, and polls this early are not a good guide to the eventual result
Underlying questions suggest Remain have several advantages – the public see leaving the EU as a risky option, which would have a negative effect on jobs, the economy and British influence
Our latest voting intention polls show that in a referendum tomorrow 37% would vote to Remain, 38% would vote to Leave. The poll was conducted between Sunday to Tuesday after David Cameron’s renegotiation deal on the 19th February, so was carried out in the immediate context of Boris Johnson’s endorsement of Leave.
......
Many of the underlying polling figures suggest that the Remain campaign may be in a stronger position than the topline figures imply. On most measures people expect Britain to be worse off if we leave the European Union – leaving is seen as being bad for British jobs, bad for British influence in the world and bad for the economy.

With all the gov's powers ranged against the leave campaign, and that's the best they can do?
No wonder the outers are holding up! And they haven't really got going yet.
The one good thing so far is, Cameroon is showing his real colours, and it's not pretty.

More excuses and still no good reasons that justify their lazy pathetic conduct, have the Police never heard of nets for instance or of the RSPA or do they not liaise with any similar animal organisations and plan for such occasions?
No face the truth CC, Lazy, incompetent, inpatient and frankly bone headed useless bods in uniforms accurately describes some of these individuals.. it's as plain and simple as that.

Another slap in the face for Corbyn!
Labour’s row over Trident has erupted again after Jeremy Corbyn and his deputy deputy Tom Watson underlined their deep split over the nuclear deterrent.
Mr Watson today revealed that he had told David Cameron personally that he would back the Tory Government in any Commons vote to renew the weapons system, with the construction of four new ‘Successor’ submarines.
But his warning came as it emerged that Mr Corbyn would address a huge CND rally this Saturday, a move that infuriated Labour MPs who point out current party policy is to back the £41bn plan to upgrade the deterrent.

Stan - I can't believe we're having this conversation. Are you really that thick? Even if any of the RSPCA guys were awake and ten minutes away, how long would it take with a dog running amok on an unlit road, causing cars and lorries to swerve out of the way before there were tears? Very sad, but better a dead doggy than one or several fatal accidents don't you think?

If anyone's thick around here it certainly isn't me CC, maybe look closer to home and open your eyes while your at it.
I'm afraid certain police forces over the years have been seen to be a law unto themselves and nothing more then a bunch of Crony ridden crooks covering up for some of their mates own lazy, incompetence and corrupt conduct.
Only yesterday we had the despicable case of what has been going on in Rochdale (along with some other services) with the child abuse scandal, and i'm sure I don't need to you about the Polices roll in the Hillsborough Disaster as that is still being covered up all these years later.
