Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

In the year to September 2015 the number of EU nationals that came to the UK was 257,000 however, 630,000 registered to work including 170,000 Romanians. So it looks like the Government are deliberately playing down the number coming to the UK.--Nothing new there then.

Dave said his new deal will bring down immigration to 10's of thousands :)
What was it he said to get elected "no if's or but's i will bring immigration down to the 10's of thousands"
It's never been higher the rest of the EU is also cracking under the strain of the Syrians and others now coming in through Greece and what has the EU done to help ? NOTHING.

It transpires that mass immigration is vital to Osbourne being able to balance the books by 2020.

Only by rapidly inflating the population with cheap workers and keeping growth figures up can GO achieve the budget surplus he promised by 2020.

that's a bit of a tenuous argument, not least because it implies that most immigrants would not only be working, but would also be paying tax .......
yet surely one of the major gripes (by those so inclined) is that a huge % just sponge off the state
you can't have it both ways

Well DC obviously thinks he can. Put aside the fact that there would be some claiming benefits, the infrastructure is at breaking point now, even if every migrant coming to the UK had a job the services could not cope.

My gripe is not that they all want to come for a free ride ,i am concerned that millions of them are taking jobs that our young people could do .
And please don't anyone say that they don't want to do them ,i know a lot of youngsters and there is real problems out there in the jobs market .

i sort of agree with your last post, though assuredly there are a significant number of immigrants who absolutely work their socks off
as an example
if you take the hand-wash car guys, i bet you'll find nearly all of them of polish or lithuanian or serbo-croat or similar, and that good % of those will also have second(ary) jobs
why do we so rarely see young brits with that sort of initiative and work-ethic?

Registered to work , does it mean they are actually in work or registered to receive any benefits . And 170,000. and they mocked and shamed the only man who had the guts to tell us what would happen .

V ---- I'm not Au Fait with the system but I gather that if you register to work then you are entitled to certain benefits, perhaps someone who knows could enlighten us.

You just gotta love these fat-cat bosses threatening there will be huge job losses if we vote LEAVE, I don't recollect them being concerned when they shifted goodness knows how many jobs away from the UK to India, Czechoslovakia, China et al.

It just goes to show George that they couldn't give a flying fig about the Nations make up , heritage or where it's heading , as long as they themselves are seen as successful in their role .

It's not just business either . Sir John Nott says the Miltary leaders who signed a letter of staying in EU are wrong , our security depends on NATO not the EU . article in Telegraph . War hero felt pressured by no 10 , into signing pro europe letter .
