THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

It just goes to show George that they couldn't give a flying fig about the Nations make up , heritage or where it's heading , as long as they themselves are seen as successful in their role .

And a lot of them are not getting involved in Dave's racket .

Many of the large companies complaining about job losses could move their help lines back from Bombay.

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2016 15:44 - 68351 of 81564

Vicky,

Your b, ancestors were foreigners.

Push off back to where they originated from.

VICTIM - 26 Feb 2016 15:45 - 68352 of 81564

It's not just business either . Sir John Nott says the Miltary leaders who signed a letter of staying in EU are wrong , our security depends on NATO not the EU . article in Telegraph . War hero felt pressured by no 10 , into signing pro europe letter .

VICTIM - 26 Feb 2016 15:53 - 68353 of 81564

I think I'm wasting my time on you Freda , I don't think they came in such vast numbers in such a short space in time , if you are bored why don't you go down to your local doctor or to nearest Hospital , school , job centre and explain to them your concerns and needs for these people .

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2016 16:07 - 68354 of 81564

Vicky,

Pop into you nearest hospital and check the nationalities of doctors. nurses, physios and other staff.

Also, the strength of a country is not its armed forces but its economy. The willingness of each of the EU countries coming to the aid of one another, not selfish self-centred little isolationist principles as some appear to laud and is something many hope for and has been achieved over the last 25-30years.

Of course, there are problems with the EU but have the guts to face up to them and gradually resolve them rather behave like destructive ill-tempered schoolboy hooligans
who want their own ways.

The willingness of each of the EU countries coming to the aid of one another, not selfish self-centred little isolationist principles.

Tell that to Greece and Cyprus and indeed the UK.

I know jimmy that loop he's on needs updating , the doctors in these places are complaining about the influx in various countries and saying they are at breaking point . In Germany they say that they need armed guards because the nurses get threatened by these people , yes even those wonderful Syrians . But they are only nurses aren't they who cares .

Fred1new - 26 Feb 2016 16:38 - 68359 of 81564

JB,

Post 68357

You shouldn't post selfies of yourself.

Somebody might offer to care for you.

Perhaps, an immigrant.

Hear some are very tolerant of the less fortunate!

2517GEORGE - 26 Feb 2016 17:00 - 68360 of 81564

The one size fits all Euro benefited one country above all others, Germany. They needed higher interest rates whereas the majority of the remainder needed much lower rates, the Euro gave Germany a distinct advantage over most if not all other countries in the Euro. So to say each country were willing to aid one another is absolutely ludicrous.

Yes your both right Germany wins and wants the EU to succeed at all costs . Germany or Merkel , who announce to the world they will take in 800,000 Syrians this year and 500,000 for the next few years . without consulting there own people or any other member of the EU , just like that . Stuff all the other members .

cynic - 27 Feb 2016 09:04 - 68365 of 81564

referendum reference article
well worth buying today's telegraph
page 7 gives a brief and balanced resume on some of the main sovereignty issues
it gives the present status and what is likely to happen if we leave

on many of the issues, there is unlikely to be a great difference in the reality of things

iturama - 27 Feb 2016 09:33 - 68366 of 81564

That cartoon just about sums it up Max.
As FDR said in his inaugural address in 1933 - So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
He said a lot more of course about the great recession and greedy bankers. We never seem to learn. Or our political masters simply don't want to.
