On a sobering note - I've just read vasey's posting of John Betjeman's poem, and I haven't forgotten that Croc asked us to save him a stool closest to the bar (just after his birthday). So here it is...although, remembering his girth, it isn't as close as he would have liked it to be!

Cheers Croc

STORMCALLER - 30 May 2004 00:14 - 6865 of 23498

Golddog,
In my travels the one recurring gastronomic theme has been the excellence of the steaks here, please tell me there are some left.
Waiter service is excellent by the way.

STORMCALLER - 30 May 2004 00:20 - 6866 of 23498

Oh dear, seems GD has gone, anyone tell a stranger where a snack might be available at this time of night?

MightyMicro - 30 May 2004 00:21 - 6867 of 23498

*pop* *fizz . . .* It's the Mumm Napa Blanc de Blancs this time, 90% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Gris and I'm damned if I can remember what the last 5% is.

STORMCALLER: good to see you here, yes, I'm sure we've met virtually elsewhere.

dotel: sorry about that earlier incident in the dark when I mistook you for a light switch.

dotel - 30 May 2004 00:26 - 6868 of 23498

s'ok MM - the main thing is, you turned me on

STORMCALLER - 30 May 2004 00:28 - 6869 of 23498

MightyMicro,
Back at you dude, would have been here earlier but sense of direction AWOL, got lost getting out of bed yesterday.
Sounds trick what you are drinking, perhaps you should just drink the 95%, is that dry I've not tried it?
On the DP myself, pretentious schmuck!

dotel - 30 May 2004 00:28 - 6870 of 23498

OK, Stormie - just slipped into my works clothes - how would you like it? Rare or blue? Hurry up

STORMCALLER - 30 May 2004 00:30 - 6871 of 23498

Rare please Dotel, I am humbled by your kindness to a poor lonely stray, apart from all my new friends here that is.

dotel - 30 May 2004 00:32 - 6872 of 23498

Rare coming up then... and no humble

MightyMicro - 30 May 2004 00:33 - 6873 of 23498

SC: Oh it's dry all right, when the fog lifts, I'll remember what the other 5% is . ..

dotel: if you're talking about the steak, rare . . .

dotel - 30 May 2004 00:36 - 6874 of 23498

Blimey...another one

oh I may as well throw one in for me then - jsut feeling the hunger pangs again

STORMCALLER - 30 May 2004 00:39 - 6875 of 23498

dotel,
So kind, such beauty, such talent, why did I not find this place 1000 years ago when I was young.

MM Steak is to die for, bubbly to celebrate, anyone?

dotel - 30 May 2004 00:43 - 6876 of 23498
