How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

plonked my greened up winnings on Blackburn, before I'd managed to green up, Blackburn scored again :-) Also had a small back bet on over 2.5 goals.

pt well done bugz are you on blackburn?

Bugz - 10 Dec 2005 16:38 - 6873 of 10502

No, just missed out. Hit the button as the market was suspended. Great game for trading-moving all over the place and still open.

Hi guys

well done on the footie - had an unplanned afternoon kip so missed first 15 mins of Arsenal game.

Fell asleep with a losing trade on the rugby on Stade F and I see they scraped home :-)

Yet to have a loser today so currently leaving the Arsenal alone!!!

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 17:56 - 6875 of 10502

Newcastle are awful, if we cant beat this lot.............

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 18:56 - 6876 of 10502

This ref is a joke

How many offences does Shearer have to commit to get a yellow card

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 19:10 - 6877 of 10502

Newcastle poor, Arsenal poorer, ref diabolical lol

Distinct lack of midfield presence from Arsenal and even a lack of urgency at the end - v disappointing but not overly surprising

WOODIE - 10 Dec 2005 19:22 - 6878 of 10502

fundy why are they playing better in champs league this year complete turnaround from last year with the prem league form going the other way.

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 22:29 - 6879 of 10502

Good to see the end of Fraudley Harrisons career in the worst ever sporting event

had a green book but would have loved a draw (and fancied my chances when split decision was announced)

DocProc - 10 Dec 2005 22:34 - 6880 of 10502

Backed Williams after the first round and then just didn't bother greening up. I picked the winner but what a very poor boxing match!

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 22:36 - 6881 of 10502

Doc

to be honest it was appalling

i laid harrison before the fight then took my stake back out after the knock down by laying williams - would have been great if theyd called a draw

bakko - 10 Dec 2005 22:42 - 6882 of 10502

Evening Guys

Didn't see the fight as I can't stand that Audley d**k***d

Just been on the Sociedad v Villarreal game. A fraction before Real scored their 3rd goal the whole book was taken out from 1.27 all the way down to 1.1!

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 22:48 - 6883 of 10502

Bak

likewise which is why i had to lay him at 1.35 :-) against a guy with more experience and bottle

Fraudley looked sh*t scared from start to finish!

Fundamentalist - 10 Dec 2005 22:48 - 6884 of 10502

someone live at the game?

bakko - 10 Dec 2005 22:54 - 6885 of 10502

Could well be.

Just having a quick look at the cricket ahead of tomorrows game, at the same ground as the first 1 (lahore)

England have slight fitness doubts over Pietrsen (back) and Flintoff (ankle/knackered) and also have the added complication of getting up in the middle of the night for Sports Personality of the Year!

England available at 2.3 so similarly priced to last times game. Again the toss will be important with the advantage going to the side winning it and batting first. Another high scoring game anticpated with 280-290 probably seen as a minimum requirement batting first

Again a 6.00am start for any early birds

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 06:02 - 6887 of 10502

England won the toss and batting first again, both sides unchanged except England changed their supersub so are actually a batter lighter than saturday

England odds from 2.3 to 1.9 just on the toss

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 06:36 - 6888 of 10502

30-2 and not looking too rosy for England

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 07:14 - 6889 of 10502

74-4 on what is a very good batting wicket

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 08:02 - 6890 of 10502

114-6 and not looking goog
