How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

114-6 and not looking goog

Morning Steve

Switch on and it's back to a very familiar scorecard for Eng!

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 08:10 - 6892 of 10502

Looking like 1-1 at this rate.

Wonder whether they'll blame it on getting up for BBC Sports awards last night?

Anyway, catch with you later as need to set off for work.

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 08:11 - 6893 of 10502

See you bak

they looked so tired and bored on sports personality last night! A very disappointing display though Shoaib has been superb

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 09:09 - 6894 of 10502

Well a decent stand by Plunkett and Solanki (why not used earlier?) is giving England a total of 200+

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 09:31 - 6895 of 10502

230 all out - shouldnt be anywhere near enough (especially with England a bowler light) but at least its a total to bowl at

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 10:14 - 6896 of 10502

Hats off to Plunkett and Solanki. Still well short with 230 but much healthier than 130+ for 8 at one stage.

At least Eng have a fighting chance.

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 10:16 - 6897 of 10502

Bak

i had shorted the england spread, closed when Blackwell was out and then pi**ed off when Collingwood was out but turned out the right decision after all.

Currently small red on Pakistan but if the bowlers look up for it may lay them looking for an early wicket or two, especially with the twilight gloom ahead

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 10:45 - 6898 of 10502

Steve...Nice work again.

I went in heavy between 1.24 and 1.3 on Pakn and now out and all green :-))

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 10:48 - 6899 of 10502

Game looks all but over - bowlers posing little threat on a flat wicket - neither Harmy or Flintoff look like they have the energy or inclination to bowl flat out

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 11:16 - 6900 of 10502

Could do with a wicket or 2 just so I can nick a trade!

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 11:19 - 6901 of 10502

Just got a fill at 1.07

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 11:32 - 6902 of 10502

Out at 1.03 :-)

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 11:50 - 6903 of 10502

Bak

almost fallen asleep this end - very disappointing game from an England perspective.

Shoaib the big difference between the 2 sides - be interesting to see if he is fit for the rest of the series

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 12:59 - 6904 of 10502

Pakn are really dragging this out!!

Steve...What's the light like at this time?

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 13:01 - 6905 of 10502

Hold on, ill just turn back to it (on the horses now)

ok, bit dreary - games over bak!

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 13:05 - 6906 of 10502

Thanks.

I'm all green but was going to stick a small lay on Pakn at 1.01 in the hope that a few wickets may fall if the light was poor.

I'll give it a miss now. Agree with you that game was over a long time ago!

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 14:16 - 6907 of 10502

Just got a mention on William Hill Radio, LOL!

B-P - 12 Dec 2005 15:40 - 6908 of 10502

Scrip.
They had it scheduled to mention you last week --------- but because of their time delay thing its taken them over a week to sort it out ( tongue in cheek) :):):)
