zarif - 09 Sep 2003 23:27

anyone out there palying the indexes and using spreadbetting
can we concentrate on:
djia
ftse100
cac40
dax

lets see what entry and exit signals we can come up with using
gann
rsi
to see if we can predict profitable trades and concentrate on stop losses etc
love to hear from you all

Jules: Megabucks: Snoball:
I hope u are all shorting like mad and not in the longs at present. What a nosedive. I had 2 shorts and collected 114pts at 15/pt and 80pts at 12/pt. Now I am just looking at the screen and anaestehetised myself with my best freinds Chivas And Haigh.
Good luck

jules:
I have gone long at 9195 Dec Dow at 15/pt and it is at 9246 as i write at gmt 16.42 (14.00 eastern time usa 2pm) and i think it is going to have a lot more upside and am waiting.

Jules Are you Trading the Daily Dow WHich Expires at end of day trade (9pm), which can be costly at times when the market is uncertain.
You can trade the following month eg#: october november or december and hence giving more time for the trade to mature in case it doesnot happen on the day you can carry on.

let me know and happy hunting

Snoball/mega/zarif...I'm learning from you guys...

Do u follow dow on a real time chart...and which website intra day is best for analysis?

Mega Bucks - 30 Sep 2003 20:00 - 75 of 126

j99,

do you use stop losses on the dow?

Mega...

jules99 - 30 Sep 2003 20:18 - 76 of 126

megB, this is my second day on the indices,,,was about to today as I was out...in the end went in my favour...I an only doing $5/10 A point which with margin I am able to cover , with the market at prsent it could go 200 either way...before a recovery intraday at some point...

Monitoring at present gone long again $5 a point from 9320...I'm looking to make..between 100-450 from each hold...which suits me fine at the moment...if in the last hour market closes above 3320 say 3340 I may leave open, in case it opens on a positive note tmor...

I learnt today not to become too freindly or emotionally attached with indices...if theres a profit and u want it then bank it...tomorrows another day to jump in..

jules,

most of the move down today was due to the futures falling overnight.
if you don't have a stop loss on overnight you could get royally banjaxed.
be careful and keep up the good work.

Mega Bucks gave us a real time Dow link either on here on the Dow thread
a few days ago.
If I find it I will post it here later.

jules99 - 30 Sep 2003 20:36 - 78 of 126

Royally banjaxd...I like that...lol..

Just gone long again $5 apoint from 9283 to hopefully cover and close the earlier position to 9320. hopefully it gets to 9310+ in which case it's still a profit...

How do think ftse will open am positive ?...and also the DAX...?

and what are the point levels to watch?

snoball - 30 Sep 2003 20:40 - 79 of 126

jules,

here is the Real Time Dow (and others)

I hesitate to suggest any levels. You're doing alright on your own. :-)

jules99 - 30 Sep 2003 22:20 - 84 of 126

Ended day with 2 long positions at $5- 9283 and $5-9320 hopefully DOW is positive on opening tmorrow...9350 would be good be atreat again...

I think I will keep all indice trading at these leveles until I find some kind of method or strategy.

On CFD's have nevr done a shorting as yet..in my life...I hope the day I do that it is with good precision...

may try it tmorr on DOW if it reaches 9350...though one never knows...

Signal watch is also a good site...
