How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Hold on, ill just turn back to it (on the horses now)

ok, bit dreary - games over bak!

bakko - 12 Dec 2005 13:05 - 6906 of 10502

Thanks.

I'm all green but was going to stick a small lay on Pakn at 1.01 in the hope that a few wickets may fall if the light was poor.

I'll give it a miss now. Agree with you that game was over a long time ago!

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 14:16 - 6907 of 10502

Just got a mention on William Hill Radio, LOL!

B-P - 12 Dec 2005 15:40 - 6908 of 10502

Scrip.
They had it scheduled to mention you last week --------- but because of their time delay thing its taken them over a week to sort it out ( tongue in cheek) :):):)

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 16:48 - 6909 of 10502

LOL!

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 20:27 - 6910 of 10502

Well I never Pompey 1-0 up!

Harlosh - 12 Dec 2005 20:33 - 6911 of 10502

Mmm. The Harry factor. I didn't take note of it and backed Spurs. Hope they can come from behind as they did last week.

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 20:34 - 6912 of 10502

Lets all laugh at Tottenham la la la

John - never back against a side with a new manager to impress!

cant believe spurs are still favs

Harlosh - 12 Dec 2005 20:37 - 6913 of 10502

Yep. Broke a rule there Steve. Broken rules are always costly!

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 20:40 - 6914 of 10502

One ill never forget

remember when I travelled up to Forest on an away Weekend when it was Stuart Pearces first game in charge as caretaker manager - we got kicked off the park and won 1-0

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 21:02 - 6915 of 10502

I couldn't make my mind up on what to do, so I just sat there.

I thought Lay Spurs but 1.50 was not skinny enough. That said I didn't and still don't expect Pompey to win.

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 21:03 - 6916 of 10502

Very tempted to lay Pompey when they hit 2.0, but that means i have to support spurs! continue writing the xmas cards i think :-)

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 21:17 - 6917 of 10502

Booooooooooo but good for my book lol

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 21:17 - 6918 of 10502

LOL, I followed you, thanks, Will close out now and see what happens from here.

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 21:18 - 6919 of 10502

I wonder whether backing the draw would have been better?

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 21:19 - 6920 of 10502

Nice one scrip

feels like dirty money for me with Spurs scoring but lovely money for you with Pompey conceding lol

Scripophilist - 12 Dec 2005 21:19 - 6921 of 10502

Hmm, Pompey playing well. I think I'll keep the book green.

Bugz - 12 Dec 2005 21:19 - 6922 of 10502

Nice one Fundy - rubbish though. Nothing worse than seeing a white shirt running around white hart lane cheering after a goal. Bloody scum ;-)

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 21:19 - 6923 of 10502

Overs at 1.53

very open game, be surprised if ends 1-1 but price probably fair

Fundamentalist - 12 Dec 2005 21:20 - 6924 of 10502

Bugz

i know but a few quid in the bank softens the blow and good to see Redknapp unhappy
