Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

He would make a good president or leader of the Con Brexiters party.
Suit the latter down to the ground.

Maybe of interest to some who are "frightened" by the immigrants:
Interesting Wikipedia pages
Displaced persons camp
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Displaced_persons_camp
And have a look at the links.
That was in a disorganise Europe.
I have even greater respect for Merkel and her humanitarian sense of decency rather than self-interest expressed by Cameron and crew.

in that case we would all like to hear about your personal experiences in the camps at say calais and lesbos, or wherever else you went

Manuel,
I think you could reflect that it was one of your offspring who went to Lesbos, not yourself.
Perhaps, you could reflect on the experiences of some, many of your kindred who were accepted by different countries when they wished to flee, for political or economic reasons, rather than attempting to be a smart arse.
The information pointed to, at Wikipedia, would seem to me to factual and informative.

it was indeed my younger son, and it affected him greatly
i think he said that only about 60% of the refugees were from war zones
clearly you haven't been to any of the camps, but just wish to be your usual sanctimonious self
as i have said on a number of occasions, there were huge barriers imposed to prevent jewish refugees coming into uk both before, during and after the war ..... but that is history and not especially relevant
i have always said that i have no objection at all to genuine syrian war refugees ex syrian camps being allowed entree .... but there should not and indeed cannot be open-door even for them; there needs to be numerical control for all sorts of pretty obvious reasons
the economic refugees from (pretty) safe regions can go back there as far as i am concerned
i also object strongly to the open-door allowed to eu citizens, especially if they come without any qualifications

Is that Fred talking shite again , maybe he should hang out with the luvvies like Jude Law and now Angelina Jolie who no doubt after visiting Greece will fly on her Lear Jet back to paradise .
These people don't live in the real world and i don't know about Fred but i bet he lives way away from it all and will do NOTHING to help .
If i hear that Fred has been making trips to Calais with supplies i'll give him credit for walking the walk however he will meet with many migrants who have been offered decent shelter with heating and water but have refused saying "we want to go to UK".
They won't register there .
Tell Fred to go over but take a bigger security team with him than the prick Jude Law who's team got mugged and their phones stolen.

Vicky.
Do you have a conception of "humanitarian sense of decency" in regard to the "immigrant problem", or is immediate "self iterest" your guiding principle when considering the problem.
Good luck!
