SUPERSCAPE - TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE. (SPS)

Happy1 - 03 Mar 2004 22:47

Superscape was founded nearly twenty years ago, and has been dedicated throughout its history to the development of ground-breaking software technology for the creation and delivery of innovative, high quality interactive 3D applications.
Over the years, Superscape has amassed unparalleled expertise and experience in the development of 3D software capable of working within the constraints of limited memory devices, slow processor speeds and strictly controlled file sizes.

Drawing on this knowledge, Superscape has established a world-leading position in the development of industry-standard 3D technology and applications for mobile devices. The company's Swerve technology has been developed specifically for wireless environments in close collaboration with ARM, and comprises a 3D engine (Swerve Client), authoring tools (Swerve Studio) and a broad portfolio of 3D content, with particular emphasis on 3D games. Swerve is being adopted on a global basis by many of the mobile industry's leading players, together with world-renowned content and brand organisations.

Superscape has corporate headquarters in Hook, Hampshire (UK) and San Clemente, California (USA) with regional offices in Tokyo and Sydney. The company is quoted on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: SPS).

Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.

The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.

People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

Val d'Isere? Not quite the right comparison. Anyone who bought into SPS's 38p rights issue, two years ago, must feel as if they have tumbled down the notorious 'Hari Kiri' at Mayrhofen:

The Hari Kiri
Another jewel in Mayrhofen's crown is the infamous 'Hari Kiri' - the steepest gradient prepared piste in Austria. This blackest of black runs is an eye-widening, throat-drying, trouser-staining 78 degrees! You'll find it (or can avoid it) on the North-facing, backside of the Penken, between red 3 and 5. Look for the skull and cross-bones piste marker (seriously)...or head for where the red snow leads to the yellow helicopter...!

Personally I suspect the rise is yet another outbreak of speculative buying in a penny share, but I re-iterate last week's hope, the dealing accounts are California-based.

FLEET, England, November 12 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the Nielsen Mobile
Research report for Q3 2007, Superscape
Group plc is now listed in the Top 5 North American mobile games publishers.
The others include: EA, GLU, Gameloft and Namco. This is the first time that
Superscape has been ranked this highly since it entered the mobile games
marketplace.

The Nielsen Mobile Q3 quarterly report puts Superscape in the top five,
in an overall list of ninety-four North American mobile games publishers, in
terms of the company's revenue performance.

Kevin Roberts, CEO, Superscape Group plc said: "We are obviously
delighted to have reached this high ranking and to have broken into this
exclusive group of mobile games publishers. It is a clear endorsement of the
status which we have now achieved in the marketplace. More importantly,
however, is that those listed in the top five are estimated to be responsible
for approximately 59% of the total revenue derived from the Top 4 U.S. mobile
carriers."

Superscape has risen rapidly through the ranks of mobile games
publishers. In April 2007, the company announced that independent research
included Superscape in the top ten. Just five months later, the company has
soared to be in the top five.

Superscape now has some ninety mobile games titles live in the market. An
increasing proportion of these are based on Superscape's own IP (intellectual
property) which produces significantly higher margins, per title, for the
company.

Kevin Roberts: "Currently five of our top eight revenue-generating titles
are based on our own IP, and this is a trend which I see continuing in the
months ahead. We have established a strong reputation in the market for
delivering high quality, innovative games for many of the world's leading
network operators."

I've just read the header for this thread and I toyed with this mob as an investement as far back as 1998.

I find it astonishing that for all its promise and apparent technological expertise that it has so consistently failed to deliver. SPS and NXT are in the same bed with the same (long) history of failure.

hlyeo98 - 12 Nov 2007 18:41 - 694 of 707

I agree, avoid at all costs SPS and NXT. Voller Energy VLR also lies in the same bed too.

INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT

Superscape today issues its Interim Management Statement as required by the UK
Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency rules for the period from 1
August 2007 to 31 October 2007.

Organic Growth

Publishing revenues increased by 31.0% as compared to the same period during the
prior year and by 29.8% over the second quarter of the current year. Publishing
revenues now account for 100% of total revenues in the current period (3rd Qtr.
2006: 92% of total revenues/ 2nd Qtr. 2007: 99% of total revenues).

Third quarter trading continued to grow with revenues for the period increasing
by 20.9% as compared to the same period during the prior year and by 29.7% over
the second quarter of the current year.

Gross Margins

Overall gross margins for the third quarter were 72.2% (3rd Qtr. 2006: 71.4%;
2nd Qtr 2007: 76.9%). The current quarter gross margins were negatively
impacted by the sale of handsets with embedded games (not to be confused with
the pre-loaded games) derived from licensed intellectual property. These sales
typically carry higher royalty rates than normal carrier based sales of
licensed intellectual property. Excluding these embedded game sales, gross
margins would have been 79% for the current quarter as a greater percentage of
revenue continues to be derived from the Group's own intellectual property.

Operating Expenses

The Company has continued its focus on operating expense levels. As a result,
operating expenses before depreciation and amortisation have decreased by 9.4%
over the same period in the prior year and 6.1% over the second quarter of the
current year.

Financial Position

The Company's balance sheet remains strong with US$11.1m in cash at 31 October
2007, up from US$10.7m at the half year. During the first three quarters of the
current year, the Company acquired ownership of 6 new game titles for a total of
US$1.2m. There have been no other significant changes in the financial position
of the Company over the period since the publication of the report and accounts
for the year ended 31 January 2007.

Market Position

The Company is now ranked among the Top 5 North American mobile games publishers
according to the Nielsen Mobile Research report for Q3 2007. It has risen to
this position in the rankings just 5 months after entering the top 10 in April
2007.

Outlook

The Board expects that the growth in publishing revenues and gross margins
should continue for the balance of the year and into next year. The Company has
a strong net cash position and with a continuing strong focus on operating
costs, the Board has increasing confidence in the Company's financial
performance.

Kevin Roberts, CEO Superscape Group plc, commented "With the Company's improving
position in the North American mobile games market and our strong performance
during the third quarter, we continue to be optimistic that we will make
further progress in the remaining months of this financial year and beyond."

SUPERSCAPE GROUP PLC ("SUPERSCAPE" OR "COMPANY")

STATEMENT RE PRESS COMMENT

The Board of Superscape has noted the recent press comment and confirms it is in
preliminary talks which may or may not lead to a recommended cash offer being
made for the Company.

Whilst there can be no assurance that an offer will be made, it is anticipated
that any such offer, if made, would be at a significant premium to the current
share price.

A further announcement will be made in due course.

Let's hope it's not too painful - it's about time this CO of Directors were given a sleeping draught. (I sold-out in 2005, FWIW)
Zzzzz.

10p/share Bid by some US-based publisher - ah well, that at least is a final nail.

Grief, I expect the games themselves are relieved.

What a woeful management, out on the streets!
-Anyone need their car washed, - under supervision, of course?

David Colclough - 26 Jan 2008 16:05 - 703 of 707

there is a campaign against the 10p offer going on on the ADVFN site . Or e-mail your shareholding nos to spssoldshort@live.co.uk . This is gathering momentum to block the current take out price.

David Colclough - 27 Jan 2008 09:37 - 704 of 707

Just following on from previous post - the campaign is gathering momentum and the number of disgruntled PI's is increasing by the day. Act now to stop this bid by posting your shareholding ( and agreement that you will reject the offer from GLU ) to the e-mail address above. Must act quickly on this to get sufficient numbers to force some leverage in the situation - possibly to demand an EGM to put forward the thoughts of the group.

GLU have acted when the company share price is at its most vulnerable , the directors have shown who's side the are on - act now to prevent this injustice.

For those of you that are not happy with the recent offer made, all we need at this time is for you to e-mail the link below with your holding and nothing else to see if we can get the 10% required to force an EGM!!

There is no point in anymore detail because if we don't have the numbers we will have no choice but to take the 10p offered, if no further offers come in, so please e-mail TBH as you have nothing to loose!!

e-mail your holding here please

The above link should work but for those that have any problems C&P the e-mail address below into your mail box:

This has been a woeful stock for so long I'm surprised anyone thinks any Action ( by us Retail Shareholders) will do any good - the flip-side is it might dealy the bid - or scupper it altogether!

. . . . . . . . . Can anone suggest a fair-price? . . . . . . . . . .

Personally I got out at higher prices, I think 24p just covered my investment. The fact is that Management was indifferent to shareholders as I recall from a couple of AGM at their UK offices. The last one I attended was enough and so I sold out 95% of my holding. The few I have now are to remind me not to hold on for so long.
The time faor action was about 4 years ago when Management first thought they could sell the business for MegaBucks ( to Disney etc), but they never pulled it off.

Their policy was to create games based on blockbuster videos, to play on telephones - frankly I never thought anyone would pay good money for a 2" view. At least a "ringtone" can be heard by everyone in the room, demonstratiing your personal importance ( or making you look a noisy prat, depending upon yr viewpoint!).
An expensive game merely wastes times and ruins your eyesight, whilst telling everyone else you are doing nothing useful.
I rest my case.
RIP SPS
