NETeller - NLR - 3.15
Thought i would start a new thread following on from
hawick - new issue looks very special - not to steal the thunder from
hawick but just to highlight the company name to those not already in to this
potential blockbuster.
Those of us who are following NETeller know the background and have been
active with postings, for newcomers i strongly sugest viewing the
( new issue looks very special posting )the content will speak for itself.
Brief overview of NETeller
The company handles online cash transactions across the globe
on 21st oct gained fsa approval to operate as a regulated e-money issuer
and will passport the regulated status to all 25 EU member states
it has over 1 million clients rising by 2000 number each day
1500 online merchants and processed over $1.5 billion in 2003
pre tax profit is estimated to be 29 million to dec 04 rising to
40 million next year
per currently 20 to dec 04 falling to 11.5 which is low for sector
brokers have been raising forcasts on a regular basis
share price has risen over 50% since launch earlier this year
new markets emerging constantly, asia has the potential for supergrowth
online casinos are creating enormous profits
given all this - cash generative - huge market - fsa approval
infastructure in place to handle growth, profits accrue to bottom line
the market force is behind it with good relative strength
all put together it is hard to argue against this has the potential
to be a blockbuster over the year ahead

wow, nice bit of banter going on here...
for the record guys MM's do unto themselves. There is not hard and fast rule apart from making money but sometimes losing it to facilitate a client (to pay back elsewhere). so supply and demand with a twist.
GF is right on this one...i was a MM in the early 1990s and a proprietary trader until 2 years ago and have to say that there were tricks of the trade. the key always was who "owned" the stock in the smaller companies. if you were the MM with 70% of the flows you called the shots and everyone followed your lead. in my mind in NLR the MM's were short and aggressively called them down to give the illusion of size sellers on the pad to flush out some stop loses and spook a few guys who thought these would go on forever.
this is a healthy correction. it is hardly like tons of stock is coming at them and i think shorts will be covered here and they will be walked higher over the next few weeks.
just hang tight imho and i may even join the buyers at around this level.
i am surprised no one has mentioned the 888.com IPO that was announced today in the FT. That is real news for the sector and the associated industries such as NLR will gain a maassive boost...its all about Levi's and the gold rush!
hope this helps

Well said , I agree but GF reckons that the buys have outnumbered sells on way down so it contradicts what you say and according to him the MM's would now be even shorter.
So on what point do you agree ?

the only point is that all is not always what it seems. buys and sells on the screen rarely add up because the Time and Sales that we see is often incorrect. it the price is 665-672 and i am a large buyer and go on the MM who i know have sellers around i can pick up stock at 667 and it will show as a sell. this is all at the relationship level because if you were to punt with your local broker outdide the NMS you may deal in the same trade at 675!
anyway, MM's can be very confusing but when there is no scheduled info coming out in a stock they can play silly buggers to spook investors..ie perceived upside momentum "they will never be the price again" or "the story is over, sell".
for the record i think NLR is one of those stocks that looks expensive now but in two years with the growth of the sector they will look damn cheap. my tactic is to buy some next week and add if they fall and add on the way up. it has a first mover advantage and its growth is well documented and easily quantifiable. major risk will be if VISA does a U-Turn or PayPal take up tha batton.
Anyway, what a spiel as just a spectator!
about 888.com it is front page of the FT companies section. Cassava Enterprises is selling and hass appointed CSFB. timeline not clear yet.
no link but will keep the board posted as and when

Hi PT thanks for that info on 888.com please do keep the thread up to date on how that one goes.
As for Paypal as competition they have already been competition going back over 18 months but were outlawed and indeed penalised by the US authorities. Elliot Spitzer the big wig from New York was hell bent on geting at the online gambling industry and the credit providers for the industry. Some credit cards will not allow online wagering theres some kind of code which is identifiable on each credit card transaction so I think it would be very unlikely that Visa try and muscle in on the act.
cheers GF.

GF, thx for that info, i wasn't aware. so once spitzer moves to congress that could be u-turned? its so ultra protectionist in the US.
the positive side is that paypal as an emoney provider is globally accepted so sone NLR is established its use could explode is correctly marketed.

Here it is !!
Cassava to try its hand at $1.6bn IPO for 888.com
By Lina Saigol and Matthew Garrahan
Published: March 16 2005 02:00 | Last updated: March 16 2005 02:00
Cassava Enterprises, one of the world's biggest internet gambling companies, has hired CSFB to prepare a flotation of 888.com, valuing its online poker room at up to $1.6bn (836m). The flotation is expected in the second half of the year.
The move comes just weeks after PartyGaming, owner of Party-Poker, the world's biggest poker site, said it had hired Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Investec to look at a London offering, with a valuation of more than 3bn.
Cassava, which is based in Gibraltar, is headed by John Anderson who is also chief executive of Burford Holdings, the UK property group.
About 70 per cent of the company is controlled by two pairs of brothers, including Israelis Avi and Ahron Shaked. The remainder is owned by the management.
Cassava's most recognisable brand is 888.com but it also owns Pacific Poker, Casino-on-Net and Betmate UK. CSFB and Cassava both declined to comment.
Online poker has exploded in popularity and some analysts are predicting it could soon generate more money than sports betting.
A report released last week by Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein estimated that there could be 7.7m poker players worldwide by 2008. Total revenues from poker last year were $1.4bn, but DrKW is forecasting sharp growth to $5.9bn a year by 2008.
Companies such as 888.com have chosen to list in the UK rather than in the US, the world's biggest online betting market, because the legality of online casino gaming in the US is unclear.
The UK could become a hub for online gaming companies if the government's controversial gambling bill becomes law. The bill will introduce regulation for the sector for the first time and position the UK as a market open to online betting companies.
Other companies keen to get in on the poker act include YahooUK, which will launch a gambling website next month, and WPT Enterprises, which plans to launch a gambling website in the second quarter.
Winning the pitch to float 888.com will be seen as a boost for CSFB, which has succeeded in a series of equity capital market mandates across Europe recently.
Other deals for CSFB include the London flotation last month of Sistema, the Russian telecommunications group, and the Frankfurt listing last week of Premiere, the German pay-TV company, which it handled together with HVB and Morgan Stanley.
The bank has also been selected to work on the forthcoming flotation of Areva, the French state-owned nuclear power company.
I,m enjoying the banter!!

Interesting posts. So here is the problem. Having made a nice profit on these and about to go on holiday for a week do I sell and bank the profits or is this correction over and I should just sit and wait for the longer term upward trend return? I am tempted to sell and buy back in later, hopefully at a lower price. Common sense tells me that with a spread of only just over 1% the only danger with tactic is a sudden increase in sp.
Any thoughts welcome

I try to make an habit of selling everytime Evil and his army move in on a company. These are not the same circumstances that prevailed when he first attacked it. He was onto a loser then.
You really have to make your own mind up.
cheers GF.
