I bought shares in this company at 4.5p in September 2003. I see they are rising. Can anyone tell me please the growth potential for this company as they have just been awarded several new contracts ?

Yes I realise the bid\ask as well. I am interest in the ask more then bid, bid can be 10p no problem if the ask would be 14p will be great.
"Thin trade and lack of overnight direction from US markets ensured an uninspiring morning session with leading shares beginning on a positive note but eventually drifting lower. At high noon, Footsie stood at 4347.2, down 13.9 points, with techMARK on 1009.94, off 4.94 points. "
That is what I fear would happen. Not because a stock is crap, has no future, people just react sentimentally can cause the good building tumbling down.
But stick with your gut. What good is can not be hidden, selling down as bad. Those sellers would come back in RNS release paying a higher price, if everything else is ok with the market nextweek. Today give good opportunity for top up.

CMS WebView plc
Statement re Proposed Placing and Extraordinary General Meeting
On 10 November 2003, CMS WebView plc ('the Company') announced that it was
considering a fundraising and consulting its advisers accordingly.
The Company has now begun the process of undertaking a placing to institutional
and other investors, seeking to raise up to 2.5 million ('the Proposed
Placing').
Funds which the Company intends to raise via the Proposed Placing will be
applied primarily to increase the marketing of its main Transactional Data
Interface ('TDI') product, including in the US market, where the Company has
previously won TDI orders from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago
Board of Trade.
The Company is today sending to shareholders a circular which includes a notice
of an extraordinary general meeting convened to seek their approval to increase
the authorised share capital of the Company and to authorise the directors to
issue and allot ordinary shares on a non pre-emptive basis, including up to
30,000,000 new ordinary shares specifically for the Proposed Placing.
The subscription price of any new shares to be issued under the Proposed Placing
has not yet been agreed, but is expected to be at a discount to 15.25p, the
Company's mid-market share price at the close of business on 28 November 2003.
The number of shares actually allotted under the Proposed Placing may be
significantly less than 30,000,000, depending on, inter alia, levels of demand
and the subscription price agreed with new investors.
Copies of the circular to shareholders are available at DLA, 3 Noble Street,
London EC2V 7EE. Further details will be announced in due course.

All this nonsense about market makers, tree shaking, monkey bars, gorillas in the mist, makes me laugh!
At the end of the day a market maker squares his books, prices stock etc, all based on one thing and one thing only, ie the balance of supply and demand driven by us the investing public.
So come on! This is not a them versus us thing! This stock has rallied on ONE tip, yes ONE tip at 4.75p in Shares Magazine. The stock is now up 215%!
If there is no detailed news since the tip, no trading statement, results not due to May, this isnt investing, this is gambling!
Does anybody feel secure holding this stock at these levels without more clarity from the company? Please outline your rationale if you do....?
9-10pence may be a good base, but 16pence?
I hold my hands up and say well done to those who stayed in to these levels! You've done brilliantly on this one! But dont get greedy & more importantly remember the downdraft on blue sky, small stocks can be devastating!

The discount, number of new shares and dilution factor will be critical to sustaining price level.
Remember, more shares in issue dilutes the potential eps.
Awaiting further news.....

Just spoke to corporate synergy, fund raising is very unlikely to include private investors.

However i expressed an interest. If enough private investors show an interest then the may be persauded to broaden the offer.Unlikely but you never know.

Lets face it, if they can raise the 2.5, then there is some serious confidence in the product and the company. What's wrong with raising funds for expansion. Yes it may dilute the price, but most companies do this at some stage to move them to the next level. This stock is dynamite and may open up significantly higher on Monday.

I'm a little confused. We all knew CMV was out raising funds. I assume there is a very good reason that this RNS comes out before ProphetX etc contract news.
Investors a lot wiser than me knew they were out doing their presentations to investors - why is this RNS being reacted to with an almost "I told you so" stance? Is it bad news? Does it definitely mean that the price will drop significantly on Monday? - I thought that CMV, its institutional investors as well as we private investors would want to ensure that value in the company is retained - but what do I know, and I'm not being sarcastic - a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing and I definitely put myself in the "little knowledge" drawer. Looking forward to receiving feedback especially from you Sue

Listen, the city is not going to give CMS 2.5m on speculative froth! they will want to know there are contracts on the horizon, and the money is necesary to shore up their balance sheet so they can deliver the projects/products. At the end of the day it ain't a huge amount and if succesfull, bingo were off, especially if the announve one or two new contracts.
