Buy @ 5 Target approx 8 Medium term (IFNC)

peeyam - 30 Jul 2007 09:19

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Information management software company Infonic PLC said it expects its first-half revenues to be about 100 pct higher than the same period last year, higher than its expectations of a 50 pct rise, due to stronger than expected trading.

The company also said it maintained careful control of its costs and it expects to report positive EBITDA for the period.

Infonic said it will announce its results on September 28.

JM Finn recently set target 12p before this announcement. Are you staying put, adding or selling. Tempting to buy but also in yesterdays announcement "In addition, the Company is currently in discussion with shareholders regarding financing options to help it to develop its sales and marketing infrastructure in order to meet the increasing global demand for its technology".
Is there a share issue shortly and at what price?
This is what holds me back at moment, after that I am in as potential to double and achieve PE relative to sector but a dilution would limit this.
What do you think?

peeyam - 06 Nov 2007 16:02 - 8 of 31

In light of the companies need for additional capital there will be an issue most likely, however i doubt if they going to issue lower than 9 or 10 p considering the current share price.

taking into account the growth in revenue to june from 1.8m to 4m. and the 8.7m MOD contract, I believe the share has only one way to go in the long term.

8.25p - 8.5p maybe a good level to top up however no idea if it will go there.

I am personally staying put my new target price is 12p. Have bought additional shares. hoping for 12p by christmas. and maybe a lot higher by mid next year since JM Finn target was set prior to the MOD contract.

andysmith - 06 Nov 2007 19:15 - 9 of 31

Do you really think that in the current markets that shares will be issued at a premium? I would expect somewhere around 7.5p and then with the cash and new contract wins the sp can push ahead but what do I know??
Guess I should have bought at 7.5p a week ago.

peeyam - 07 Nov 2007 08:42 - 10 of 31

no regret andy there are always other opportunities

peeyam - 07 Nov 2007 10:54 - 11 of 31

8.5 maybe a good buy

andysmith - 07 Nov 2007 13:24 - 12 of 31

I think sp will wait until details of financing are known, have set a buy-if though but not at current price.

andysmith - 08 Nov 2007 21:47 - 13 of 31

Further falls today, almost there. Once details of financing are revealed then IFNC will be a buy for me.

Toya - 09 Nov 2007 09:45 - 14 of 31

I bought in at 7.25p a while ago, and am hanging on to this one.

Infonic was a Tiddler to Watch in The Times on 06Nov:

"Infonic, the designer of satellite communication software for US and UK Armed Forces, jumped 0.75p to 8.375p on winning an 8.3million contract with the MoD as part of a consortium with EDS. The first phase is to install the kit at 250 sites in the UK. JM Finn analyst, Paul Cornelius, believes the contract will go further than this."

andysmith - 09 Nov 2007 17:36 - 15 of 31

I would hang-on if I'd bought at 7.25p as well but currently judging first purchase and would like to know the financing details mentioned in the report of MOD contract. That said, I have a buy-if in place anyway, not yet triggered.

andysmith - 15 Nov 2007 21:21 - 16 of 31

If I hadn't cancelled my buy-if 2 days ago I'd be in today but still awaiting details of the discussions with shareholders about financing before I commit to investing here.

andysmith - 19 Nov 2007 17:46 - 17 of 31

and still falling, won't be setting any buy instruction until either a seller is cleared or there is more substance to the discussing financing with shareholders. If there is a placing, the further it falls the greater the dilution. Maybe one for the watchlist until ther if FY black ink and not half-year before exceptionals?

Toya - 19 Nov 2007 18:59 - 18 of 31

I bailed out on Friday as I felt uneasy about the rumours re refinancing. Too bad - made a loss but luckily hadn't put a large amount in. Moved it into TRAC instead (which does yoyo somewhat, so one needs to be careful).

andysmith - 05 Dec 2007 22:51 - 19 of 31

Fundraising at 5.5p, good decision not to buy but wait. Hit <5p today, good prospects but need for cash may not help progress of sp.

UK small cap opening - Infonic higher amid rumours of strong trading update
AFX: The Times' Rumour of the Day column on Saturday said that Infonic -- formerly known as Corpora -- should publish a strong trading statement this month.

Actual text from The Times, on 29 December:

Rumour of the day
Keep an eye on Infonic, formerly known as Corpora, a maker of data management software for the military and market traders, up 0.125p at 5.375p. It has fallen steadily from a 48p peak in 2004 as at least 15 share issues failed to add value, but a recent shake-up has improved finances and a trading statement next month is expected to be strong.

andysmith - 04 Jan 2008 19:02 - 21 of 31

At the moment we still have to wait the EGM before the issue of the fund-raising is confirmed which is 20% dilution at 5.5p per share. That said, the forecast 2008 profit of 2.1m will still provide EPS of 0.8p so will still be trading on low PE.
IMO, anything below 6p will be a good long term buy if IFNC now starts to deliver good returns and assuming not too many more dilutions. Potential for 12p is possible?

Toya - 05 Jan 2008 18:50 - 22 of 31

EGM coming up on Friday 11 January, so not long to wait.

andysmith - 06 Jan 2008 15:53 - 23 of 31

One to keep an eye-on especially if trading update provides improved forecasts but they must now have strong cash-flow to avoid further dilutions through placings.

Toya - 07 Jan 2008 14:12 - 24 of 31

IFNC up 14.29% today at 6.75-7.25

Looks like their trading update still expected to be good.

andysmith - 07 Jan 2008 17:50 - 25 of 31

Bought in today as new forecasts released for FY09 estimate 2009 profits of over 3m and EPS 1.37p putting on forward PE <5 compared to sector average 30ish.
FY08 at EPS 0.95p is PE <7. Looking good with contracts in the bag, growth propects and imstituntional investment.

Toya - 11 Jan 2008 10:26 - 26 of 31

Results of EGM held today:

IFNC - EGM and trading update

sp currently at 7.0-7.75p
