We have implemented a favourites facility, which enables you to create a list of your favourite threads, so that you can easily view them without having to search back through the other threads.
You will notice towards the left hand side of each thread title there is a grey star icon. To add a thread to your favourites, simply click on this and it will turn gold. You can select as many threads as you want, and then to view them simply click on the orange Display Favourites Only button towards the top left of the bulletin boards.
If you are viewing a thread that you want to add to your favourites, you will notice a grey star next to the thread title on the first post - again just click on this and it will be added to your favourites.

Skinny,
Yes it has been up for a few hours - you should see some grey star icons on the left hand side of the threads - if not try a refresh using f5 - if that doesn't work, try restarting your browser,

Exec,
I am not sure of the ins and outs, but we will definately take a look at it - I am in the process of re visiting some enhancements suggested over the years, and I will add that to my list. I have a few ideas of other possible enhancements for the BB's, but I will keep you posted.
What you have suggested is probably more of an enhancement to the search facility which is probably due a bit of an overhaul.

Quick work MAM - thank you for that....but my suggestion was the inverse i.e. the ability to banish threads which is still the better option IMHO e.g. daily traders thread will have to be added every day and all other new threads - many of them interesting could be missed by default.

kernow,
We have done it this way, as we believe it is the best way to keep track of your favourite threads - a squelch option was not viable at this time. I hope that this proves useful in the long term for you.

OK - I'll give it a go but since you've implemented the exact reverse of my suggestion perhaps you will amend the header since I deserve neither credit nor blame. TIA

Yes excellent idea, from Kernow so thanks to him.
Also thanks to the team for activating it so quickly.
I wish similar sites would consider their customers as MoneyAm does.
Cheers Greek.

Kernow,
I have amended the header. Just a little background on why we did it like this, we feel this represents a better option, as you will be directed to the main BB first thing, can quickly scan to see if you want to add a thread to favourites or take a more in depth look to do the same. You can then go to your favourites, which in essence will be your own personal bulletin board. After time, you will probably build up quite a portfolio.
I am sure you will find it equally as useful as the original suggestion, as it in essence will do the same thing just approached from a more inclusive angle with regard to how you view the information.

Ian, if you're on a thread in your favourites list and you hit the thread list button at the bottom you're taken back to the general thread list not your favourites list.

Big Al, its dead easy for you,;-)
do a search for any thread containing the key words , women, sex , beer,
not neccesarily in that order;-)and add to your fav list;-)))
my fav list is dead easy, if i dont like the person who started it, i wont read it unless the topic interests me,and if i dont like any thread i read i simply dont read it again,
who needs technology;-)))

The favourites stars don't appear on a MAC, either next to the topic title or in the thread list.
The "Display Favourites" option in the thread list also appears squashed and only says "Display Favour"

Hi Strawbs,
Is it on Safari? If so, which version?
Thanks
