This question has to be addressed obviously to Scots. Is it realistic?

If Scotland had won the World Cup in 1966 (or Wales or Ireland) and we had been subjected to the same biased commentators and media clap trap, who's to say we wouldn't feel exactly the same. No different to the attitude re Man Utd. But let's not go down that track please, a mere detail and irrelevant. Also let's put history aside and any ill feeling re Highland Clearances etc.
The question is 'Mr. Alex Salmond, SNP are they right in their quest for Independance?'

A few years ago i would have said yes but the world has changed and being older maybe not wiser i'am not sure its the way to go.It has to be said though, that i'am sure that if scotland did choose to go in that direction it would certainly hold its own in the world with its resources and its entrepreneurial background. What upsets me is those english mp's who somehow think that all we do up here is spoonge of the state when they themselves are ripping the arse out of the system with their expenses.Mr cameron and millaband could be the biggest vote winners for the SNP because if they try to interfere it will backfire on them big style.I'll for one will let the young people decide its not my future( i'am to old) its theirs and they will have to live with the result right or wrong.Just my thoughts.

CC - If this thread gets any traction, you have no chance of keeping the subject on track! But good luck anyway.
FWIW, no I don't think the SNP are right in seeking Independance, I think they could lose more than they gain. Personally, I wouldn't be sorry to see them go - see post 11 for reasons why - LoL

'An independent Scotland would clearly be economically viable. But whether Scotland, the remainder of the UK - or both - would be better off after separation is much less certain.

ptholden - Aye, see where you are coming from :O)
dreamcatcher - - I am English and have lived in Aberdeen for 11 years, I also think an independant Scotland would be economically viable. But I also think if it aint broke (the union) then why fix it. Guess I am biased, or selfish, not sure.

dreamcatcher - I like my nose the shape it is mate, so I certainly would not bring the subject up in certain areas of the city. However the people I work with and friends I know I would say are not sure, especially about Mr Salmond. That's why I asked the question.

Knowing the Scots, it has been loaded for English investors.
