News out today:
Fibernet's Carrier Ring services go national!
Fibernet National Carrier Ring (NCR) provides new business opportunity to
regionally based operators
Basingstoke, 23 July 2003. Fibernet Group plc (LSE:FIB), the communications
solutions company, has today launched its National Carrier Ring (NCR)
service. Fibernet will capitalise on the success of its long established
London Carrier Ring (LCR), Europe's most popular telecom trading hub. The
new services extend the LCR's proven formula to 6 further cities across the
UK. The NCR opens up not only the opportunity for regionally based
operators to take advantage of the international routes offered by the LCR's
56 active telecoms members but also allows LCR members to enjoy the
advantage of the NCR's extremely competitive wholesale national circuit
rates.
The NCR has become the newest member of Fibernet's Carrier Ring portfolio,
serving SuperPoPs in the major cities of London, Birmingham, Bristol,
Manchester, Leeds, Reading, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Commenting on the launch of the new service, Charles McGregor, Chief
Executive of Fibernet said, "Our LCR has gone national! We originated the
Carrier Ring membership concept to provide advantages of rapid access to
market and low cost monthly circuit rentals. This new service logically
extends to a national level, and is in direct response to operator demand."
The NCR is based upon Fibernet owned and managed metro fibre and long
distance DWDM technology. The rapid provisioning of the service allows
operators to respond quickly to end customer requirements and availability
of fast commoditising prices for international voice traffic termination.
And with over 90 operators currently using the LCR and Fibernet's Frankfurt
Carrier Ring (FCR), to exchange over 20 billion minutes of voice traffic,
the services have become the home of Europe's most vibrant data traffic and
minutes trading community.
About the National Carrier Ring (NCR)
The NCR is designed to logically extend the London Carrier Ring to other
major UK cities. The NCR is the newest member of Fibernet's Carrier Ring
portfolio. It serves London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds,
Reading, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
NCR services are complemented by TANet Access Services. TANet Access
provides last mile connectivity from Fibernet PoPs to end customer premises
at rates from 64Kbit/sec up to 155Mbit/sec.
The NCR and TANet Access can form the basis of a complete UK Access
solution. The NCR alone is ideal for network development, interconnect and
private peering. Co-location is available at all NCR PoPs.

Disappointing that FIB didn't reach 1 this week but the shares are now 95p which was a good try. How high will this share go ? How long is a piece of string. Some holders would like to see 28 again but it doesn't pay to be too greedy. 5 or 6 would be quite nice. The trend will be influenced by next months figures. On ADVFN 2 by Xmas is being suggested. At present the market is coming up with quite a few surprises so as usual time will tell.

Fibernet's London Network
Already one of the most pervasive London networks, Fibernet has increased

areas: Heathrow, the West End, the City and Docklands.
The total length of Fibernet's metropolitan area network (MAN) in London is
now over 300 route kilometres, including nine river crossings. The network
directly passes the top one thousand company buildings in London and is now
even more diverse, flexible and resilient than before.

organisations in London, including HSBC, JP Morgan Chase, CSFB and Deloitte
& Touche.
In the West, Fibernet's London network now extends as far as Heathrow,

including: Heathrow Airport, Stockley Park, Wapping, Isleworth, Brentford
and the Western Corridor.
In the East, Fibernet has increased the density of its network in The City
and Docklands. Fibernet now has a total of five routes between the two
