U.S: A fresh wave of technology buying pushed the market higher ending the major indexes to new multi-month highs

Premier Farnell electrical component distributor reported a 22 percent fall in half-year profits and said there was still no sign of an upturn in its American market. Profits, fell to 26.6 million pounds from 34.1 million pounds a year ago lower than the forecast profits of 28.5 million pounds. However sales have increased over the previous period.Hays recruitment and logistics firm reported a drop in full-year profits in line with expectations and said it had made good progress in transforming into a specialist recruitment business. Hays, which provides express mail delivery, document storage, goods distribution and staff recruitment, said profits fell to 178.9 million pounds from 232.1 million pounds in the previous year

Abbot Group oil engineering and services firm said that first half earnings grew strongly and the full year would show a "continuing improvement" in results. Apart from being the North Sea's biggest drilling contractor they have a growing international presence in drilling rig design, construction and operation. Profit grew 37 percent in the first half to 13.4 million pounds PZ Cussons soap producer posted year profits four percent higher on Tuesday, and said it would seek shareholders' approval to buy back more shares. Pofits rose to 51.2 million pounds for the year from 49.2 million last year and they have proposed to increase the dividend 10.5 percent to 29 pence a share.

Mersey Docks and Harbour second-largest UK ports operator met forecasts with flat first-half profit and said it still expected its full-year results to be similar to last year. They posted pre-tax profit of 27 million pounds for the six months ended June. A dividend of 7.1 pence per share, up 4.4 percent on the same period last year.

Jurys Doyle said it had turned in a satisfactory first-half performance amid weak market conditions and that it expected something similar for the second half. Ireland's biggest hotel operator reported profit of 29.66 million euros in the six months to end-June a fall of 4.9 percent on the same period of 2002 buit in line with market expectationsKidde airline fire-fighting equipment maker said first-half profits rose 32 percent, beating forecasts, and added that overall markets were still difficult but conditions in North America were improving. Profits of 41.4 million pounds up from 28.1 million pounds beating the forecast of 34.5 million pounds. Dividend of 0.89 pence a share from 0.85 pence last year

LW - I,ve been rushed off my feet last few days...here there everywhere...know the feeling...attended a couple of weddings over the weekend...nice...

As u said had to do things I have ignored...

RTD's did as I thought on day yesterday..MM's flushing out all weak holders, the rise i expect will happen however...Credit card fraud is now major underworld business, and RETAIL DECISONS are in the right business at the right time...And I expect RTD to grow with new Contracts to follow more so after todays news...
