Intention to float on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) and appointment of new directors
Falkland Gold and Minerals Limited ("FGML"), an exploration company, announces that it intends to implement a placing and offer for subscription to raise up to 8m and to apply for the admission of its shares to trading on AIM.
FGML was incorporated in February 2004 and has begun an exploration programme for gold and other minerals in the Falkland Islands.
FGML holds the only licence to explore for gold and minerals, giving it exclusive exploration rights to substantially all of the onshore land mass of the Falkland Islands, covering approximately 12,000 km2.
The licence, currently valid to January 2007, will be extended by the Falkland Islands Government to July 2009 on admission to AIM.
The money raised will be used to undertake further stages of its exploration programme.
If its anything like FOGL it will be very oversubscribed

Falkland Gold and Minerals Limited (FGML)-1st week December - expected 40p
Falklands Gold and Minerals owns the exclusive mineral prospecting rights to the whole of the Falklands, an area in which the presence of gold, diamond indicator minerals and titanium gravels have already been found.
The Geology of the Falkland Islands is very similar to that of the south-eastern cape of South Africa. Why is this? There is a lot of convincing evidence that the Falkland Islands moved from an original position off the southeast African coast 190 million years ago, during the break up of Gondwanaland to its current position 480 kilometres from South America as a result of tectonic evolution. This is very important, given that South Africa is still responsible for around 40% of the worlds gold reserves.
Gold grains have been recovered from stream sediments and geochemical analysis performed has confirmed that gold is present on the islands. Following these findings Airborne magnetic surveys were carried out. The data was interpreted and modelled and numerous target anomalies identified, with 23 drill targets established.
Each of these targets could potentially prove the existence of economically viable gold deposits. With a market capitalisation of around 20 million, this implies a cost per opportunity of around 850,000, which in our opinion represents excellent value.
Given gold grains have already been discovered on the island; The geology is similar to the largest gold producing country in the world and there are 23 targets that have been identified as having the potential to contain mineable gold, we believe there is huge potential upside for FGML - BUY

Allocations annnounced. there were 1563 applications for 14 m share. there were only 5 m on offer. Nearly 3 times oversubscribed. Everyone gets minimum of 2500 shares plus 11% of excess application. Bit like the good old days of Govt privitisations.
Conclusion: should be a strong start tomorrow. I expect it to hover around 60p level. If people come in ,it will go further. FOGL went to 61p ,drifted down to 50p in the days after listing. Now it is 80p after 6 weeks. Something similar would be great.
Anyone got any views?

profitmaker,
I think your conclusion should be pretty near the mark IMHO.
I would be disappointed if the first day ended below 50p, which would be a 25% mark up.
RAB Capital may see some upward movement too, as they hold a fair slug of FMGL bought at a much lower price!
