Guys...all you Racing Fans out there, just wondered what your views are on comparing the 2 racing channels. I have now been subscribing to both for a while.
My views are that whereas RUK may show the major meetings , I feel that ATR which is a freebie, shows about 2 or 3 times as much racing action from England and Ireland, compared with the 20 per month we have to pay for Racing UK.
I would seriously question the value in paying 20 per month to RUK and spending half my viewing hours watching reruns of reruns of reruns.
Maybe we should run a campaign to boycott RUK as placing shedloads of bets with companies doing a special freebie with RUK is not economical sense.

Cheltenham is a better place to be a layer than a punter ( apart from 2 years ago of course)
Friend of mine who works for Met Office says shedloads of rain by Thursday next week...Best Mate must be the lay..Even though I dont want to knock him as he has been a real star, but I as soon as he crossed the line last year I thought he will never win another one...and on top of that he has performed below his normal standards this year and even though this years field are not looking that strong, I just cannot see him winning again
My current trainers are Dave Egan at Reading and Paul Phillpot at Rye House, plus Maria Nierobisz and David Flanagan in Ireland. I have got one thats ideal trip is 10 miles up the M1. You know the old joke...always starts at ten to one and finishes at half past four. However I have a machine that has only run Opens ( never even started off in graded). and 2 Pups.
I have had dogs with Tommy Foster and the best of the lot in my opinion Terry Keith in the good old Harringay days. Hazel Walden, Hazel Dickson and so the list goes on

if i could find something to beat him id agree with you on best mate but the field looks very weak, theyll have him primed - if it doesnt rain at 3-1/7-2 hes a fair price
im normally a backer at cheltenham but that may change this yr - ive made good money last few years especially 4 yrs ago i think when i had the big three in a 100 treble 4 weeks before the meet!!!
Only one of the trainers i know is philpott at rye house, used to live in broxbourne 5 mins from rye house stadium
not old enough to remember haringay but my dad and grandad still harp on about it!!! feel free to share any decent info you get (use internal mail)

To be honest i don't subscribe to RUK so i can't comment, but I like ATR. Get On is quite lively (except when the clueless and irritating Chapman is on) and of course they provide a plentiful supply of afternoon racing chirping away in my ear during afternoon trading - also good coverage from ireland and Dubai recently. If we are really lucky then the delicious Miss Bird is on too!
I wouldn't pay for it though, unless the two channels merge and bring us every track in the UK on two channels (equivalent to sky sports one and two i guess), then i might, especially if rumours of C4 getting out next year are true.
Not sorted out my Cheltenham bets yet, but happy memories of three successive winning years (the worry is my luck must run out soon!). Suspiciion is it could be an Irish bonanza year.

I wish I had laid Best Mate at the 11/4 yesterday,..still if I am really honest it is a tragedy for the sport that he wont be on centre stage.
The guys who has laid 1000/1 to 97 Kicking King must be really shi***** it now...rgds pb

Agree its a tragedy re: best mate - its now an exceptionally ordinary field for a gold cup
have to admit it would be quite amusing if kicking king was to win now - i expect those that backed will have laid it off now and spread the profit - i know i would have
email reply on its way
