Errrrrrrrrrmm. I wonder who might have stood on a stage in front of a couple of hundred people and said:

"Let's take a look at a chart for Bioprogress. You should all fillyerboats. I certainly have done already."

It wasn't me on that stage. Why do the words pot, kettle and black spring to mind there, Doris?

:o)

Dil - 19 Dec 2006 10:26 - 7020 of 11056

Hils , just using some moving averages for entry and a stop loss strategy . Only time will tell if it works but posted entry / exits and stop losses for all to see as soon as I could.

Glad I didn't listen to that BPRG ramper , who was it ?

:-)

Dil - 19 Dec 2006 10:32 - 7021 of 11056

Oh and if I had an opinion on GBP/USD it would be that its going to $2.00+ but I will only trade when preset requirements kick in.

Sorry to be so vague but you'll all be paying me for this system this time next year :-)

hilary - 19 Dec 2006 10:43 - 7022 of 11056

Dilbert,

MA crossovers are good for direction, but you also, imo, need some oscillators too. Chocopop's Magic MACDTM settings are good as are stochastics. It's then a case of getting direction from a slow chart and timing your entries and exits from a fast chart.

And the BPRG ramper. Not sure of his name, but he was speaking in the Bugle Club at the time. Have you heard of it?

Dil - 19 Dec 2006 11:00 - 7023 of 11056

I try and keep it simple Hils , don't understand most oscillators.

The Bugle club may not be as imaginary as some people think but me being a member is :-)

MightyMicro - 19 Dec 2006 11:09 - 7024 of 11056

UBS Technical Analysis Team on Cable this morning said:

"Facing increasing risks of further downside towards next support at $1.9342, 50 percent retracement of the $1.8835-1.9849 rise. At this point, a break above the Dec. 13 high of $1.9730 is needed to mark an end to the recent decline"

Are they perhaps members of the Bugle Club too? Does that mean $2 by Crimbo?

Bullshare - 19 Dec 2006 11:32 - 7025 of 11056

Daisy: Think it might have been that fiver you paid me to say those words:-)

Seymour Clearly - 19 Dec 2006 13:03 - 7026 of 11056

Daisy, Doris, Dilbert? Looks like interbreeding to me :-)

foale - 19 Dec 2006 14:05 - 7027 of 11056

I think Cable direction may become a bit more clearer in the next 24-48 hours ..than in the last 2 weeks....

Bullshare - 19 Dec 2006 14:08 - 7028 of 11056

SC; Notice all the 'pet' names start with D, must be all the same Dad or is it some secret rampers club:-)

Sue 42 - 19 Dec 2006 14:13 - 7029 of 11056

Hubby says cable has peaked - dunno why - something about the eurozone.

hilary - 19 Dec 2006 15:06 - 7030 of 11056

What about your hubby, Sue? Has he peaked yet?

:o)

MightyMicro - 19 Dec 2006 15:50 - 7031 of 11056

According to Choccie, I'm Dezza. The pattern continues . . .

foale - 19 Dec 2006 16:59 - 7032 of 11056

Dare we hope...first real hurdle at ...1.9660-70..

I reckon we might push though this time...
its more about what it does after that imo

Melnibone - 19 Dec 2006 17:10 - 7033 of 11056

Ref your hurdle, Foale, are you looking at this or something else?
Just interested in what you look for.

Sue 42 - 19 Dec 2006 17:19 - 7034 of 11056

Hils - hubby peaked 20 years ago!

Seymour Clearly - 19 Dec 2006 17:47 - 7035 of 11056

Also notice that Euro USD is hovering just under 1.3200, so once that breaks....

foale - 19 Dec 2006 19:45 - 7036 of 11056

Melnibone...yes thats it...reckon...1.9700- 1.9650 consolidating area now..
its done a lot to get back up here today...

Melnibone - 19 Dec 2006 20:07 - 7037 of 11056

Thanks Foale. It's always useful to see how other folk work out
their entry and stop points.

I see today's German data release backed up what I was thinking
about the 'Chunnel'. (well, at least the Euro. Maybe as Hilary suggests
I'm looking at the wrong cross)
See, I'm learning the secret lingo used on here.
Mrs M thinks I'm going potty. Wants to know why I keep chuntering
about Loonies, Fibers and Chunnels, and would I like to see a doctor
about it. :-))

Here's tonights stuff to Miss M.

chocolat - 20 Dec 2006 01:01 - 7038 of 11056

Well I finally confined myself to a long-term trade :)

Can't remember when I last posted, but I still have the cable long I started what seems like an age ago, from 1.9312.
My mother died 2 days later.
Decided to keep it going and added sporadically until the following Friday, when I reduced it by a chunk and left the rest to run. Ha well it didn't hit $2 first, so I still have a sell order sitting there (not sure for how much longer though), but all the buy orders have kicked in now. This sideways stuff has taken forever, and I have to say, I was a teeny bit worried yesterday when I saw it had a good go 20 points or so below my last entry, and the daily MACDs were looking none too clever for my liking last night. I told myself it was just a ruse though :)

Sort of put a marker in to the left above, so you can see where I went long that Friday. Dunno how to write stuff on charts :(

This one's from a while ago, so you can see where the green lines above are coming from:

Pulled the stops right up now, and a break above 1.9730 will see me wading in again.

MPC minutes tomorrow.

Love the decor, Hils - and totally well done to you for getting a boat :)
Could you possibly add a touch of La Clusaz please?

Blimey - I nearly forgot :)
Welcome to the party, Dil!
Can you plump up the header too, Hils? Y'know ... as in fluffy.
