THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Don't be so pessimistic.
We will vote to stay in Europe.
Things are on the up. The economy is well on way to recovery.
Try to look on the bright side of life.
The future is always better than the past. Always has been, always will be.

Matters little to my business or day-day-life if we stay or go.
I'm 100% in EU, for economic reasons
50/50% in EU, for political reasons
On balance voting in.

jimmy b - 15 Apr 2016 13:28 - 70226 of 81564

Fair enough , although i think some years down the road it make a huge difference to all our lives if we stay in .

European economy is shrinking, 17% of the global economy. It's fair to say that the UK should LEAVE this sinking ship despite the vast sums of taxpayers money our governments have ploughed into it.

Fair enough. Respect for your views, but don't agree

George

EU share of global economy probably reflects China and India rapid rise.
Can't see Uk economy getting any benefit outside the EU. Here in the south west European trade is big, big factor. We will have no aero business without Airbus. Bristol/Bath university have business park/ incubator hub for putting research projects into industry. Whole start up composites industry relies on European trade. etc etc.
For new industries it is vital to have European ties. Leave EU and all this disappears.
Not sold on EU politics though.

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 14:06 - 70230 of 81564

will . are you insane my childhood was great safe we did not have much but very happy now the uk is a shit hole more no go areas. ghettos all over the uk
police not allowed to go in certain areas facts not fiction

the uk is now full of rapist murderers low life migrant beggars only interested in free hand outs

vote out all my family and thousands of friends will vote out
and yes I mean thousands

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 14:10 - 70231 of 81564

it took the uk 12 years and millions to deport the hook
the eu is a dangerous place of unelected dimwits

we would sooner be poor than live in a country of migrant beggars
our nhs schools services being destroyed just go down to A.E full of the scum jumping the doctors and stopping the brits from getting treated for months
brits can not afford to buy a home .

tell us one good thing the eu is for the working classes because no one as yet posted anything only bad news yes the eu is good for the non uk tax paying companies

2517GEORGE - 15 Apr 2016 14:13 - 70232 of 81564

Hi will10, are Airbus going to pull out if the UK vote to LEAVE, are the universities going to stop their research? I agree we need to trade with Europe just as Europe needs to trade with the UK, and an unknown %age of that will continue for the benefit of both Europe and the UK if we do LEAVE.

I believe if we vote to LEAVE Cameron will be unable to continue as PM and therefore negotiate with the EU. I imagine the new PM would be from the LEAVE camp and with Europe needing to trade with the UK (possibly more than the reverse), a deal will be made from a position of strength.

sharing details on tax avoidance . well most of London housing is bought by people to avoid tax . so are they going to be made to pay tax on the fiddling
they buy homes leave them empty just to hide their cash pushing up prices
their should be no second homes

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 14:35 - 70234 of 81564

just as there is no such thing as a free lunch, nor is there any such thing as free trade
the latter inevitably comes with strings attached in one form or another

You fucking idiot

The UK is not a shit hole as you claim. You may live in a shit hole area. But it's of your own making. Get out of your fucking getto and travel around, the country is full of interesting people and a vast variety of places well worth a visit. There are some places I would feel uncomfortable in and try to avoid, most of Surrey, Mayfair, posh wine bars etc etc. The police can go any where. The story books tell us about the London gangster lands of bygone days, they were no go areas, before the EU was even invented.
The UK is not full of rapists you stupid little man. The UK has its share of home grown rapists, jimmy Saville etc and over the years our own youngsters that go on to kill. Most of the beggars I come across are not migrants.
Many migrants do vital jobs.
The NHS has not been destroyed, my wife, my sister, a brother and 3 nieces work in the NHS. The NHS is more effective than at any time in treating all sorts of illnesses, some untreatable even 5 years ago.
Reverse the tax cuts for the wealthy and adequately finance the NHS. Charge for treating non nationals, every other country does.

Schools are not destroyed. again properly fund them.

Stop selling council houses. Build more council houses. ( both labour and tory )
Build more houses, a lot, lot more.

Young Brits, go get better jobs, get education or accept low wages.
We need teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers etc etc why can't we make our own??
Most of the worker benefits we now have only came about because of EU
If it wasn't for EU the UK government would not have funded the regional projects around the country.
In economic terms EU all good news.
But I'm 50/50 on EU politics

Why are you complaining anyway? you're in and out of UK all the time.
