THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

sharing details on tax avoidance . well most of London housing is bought by people to avoid tax . so are they going to be made to pay tax on the fiddling
they buy homes leave them empty just to hide their cash pushing up prices
their should be no second homes

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 14:35 - 70234 of 81564

just as there is no such thing as a free lunch, nor is there any such thing as free trade
the latter inevitably comes with strings attached in one form or another

Tanker

You fucking idiot

The UK is not a shit hole as you claim. You may live in a shit hole area. But it's of your own making. Get out of your fucking getto and travel around, the country is full of interesting people and a vast variety of places well worth a visit. There are some places I would feel uncomfortable in and try to avoid, most of Surrey, Mayfair, posh wine bars etc etc. The police can go any where. The story books tell us about the London gangster lands of bygone days, they were no go areas, before the EU was even invented.
The UK is not full of rapists you stupid little man. The UK has its share of home grown rapists, jimmy Saville etc and over the years our own youngsters that go on to kill. Most of the beggars I come across are not migrants.
Many migrants do vital jobs.
The NHS has not been destroyed, my wife, my sister, a brother and 3 nieces work in the NHS. The NHS is more effective than at any time in treating all sorts of illnesses, some untreatable even 5 years ago.
Reverse the tax cuts for the wealthy and adequately finance the NHS. Charge for treating non nationals, every other country does.

Schools are not destroyed. again properly fund them.

Stop selling council houses. Build more council houses. ( both labour and tory )
Build more houses, a lot, lot more.

Young Brits, go get better jobs, get education or accept low wages.
We need teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers etc etc why can't we make our own??
Most of the worker benefits we now have only came about because of EU
If it wasn't for EU the UK government would not have funded the regional projects around the country.
In economic terms EU all good news.
But I'm 50/50 on EU politics

Why are you complaining anyway? you're in and out of UK all the time.

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 15:12 - 70236 of 81564

will - i take it that you don't agree with MrT :-)

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 15:16 - 70237 of 81564

will10 - 15 Apr 2016 15:20 - 70238 of 81564

Cynic

No, I'm not one of his thousands of friends.
I'm sure that the chairman of the local Tory party was happy to get his resignation letter.

If I didn't have a good reason to vote in, I would still vote in, if only for the fact that Tanker wants out. That's just so I can fuck with his head.

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 15:20 - 70239 of 81564

I do spend a lot of time in spain and loads of Spanish friends and want the uk to vote out then they can call for a vote to leave

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 15:23 - 70240 of 81564

will it will make no difference to me what so ever I just think for the good of the uk and its children if we stay in they have no future of being happy just work to live and then die nothing in between

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 15:26 - 70241 of 81564

will post from spain next week

TANKER - 15 Apr 2016 15:27 - 70242 of 81564

2517GEORGE - 15 Apr 2016 15:27 - 70243 of 81564

Looks that way cynic
will---- the funding from the EU for the regional projects----some of our contributed money back.
The NHS needs to become more efficient with the money it already receives before throwing more at it.

dreamcatcher - 15 Apr 2016 15:28 - 70244 of 81564

Please don't., :-))

George

Hear you, I can only speak about life in southwest UK, but still believe on economics we need to stay. 50/50 on politics.

Most Airbus work here is via GKN. Airbus has a design office in Bristol and heavily into composites. If we leave EU new design work will be picked up by other European partners. Why would a heavily EU financed business let the UK continue with design work if an internal partner can take it on in the future?. The Universities are tied into a European wide network. If we not in then we will fade from the front line because most of the funding is EU and our government, of all shades, will not fund the high cost/long time frame of research.
No doubt we can make an economic future for ourselves, but certainly a lot of what we now have economic wise in Bristol/southwest is via being in EU. UK just a small pawn on our own.

George

post70244.

Agree. But for sure if left to UK government (of all sorts) money would not have gone to regions.

Agree with you on NHS too. Lots of waste. My wife a Physo in a cancer clinic has a high % of failures to turn up. Sometimes because ambulance driver working to rule, sometimes patient couldn't be arsed.

But huge gains in quick treatments. Cardic heart stents easy job. heart valve replacement routine now only 4-5 days recovery in hospital.

Big advances in cancer treatment on the way. Genetics/tech/online treatments all need more and more cash.

will10 sorry but you are absolutely wrong on the below.

The NHS is more effective than at any time in treating all sorts of illnesses, some untreatable even 5 years ago.

VICTIM - 15 Apr 2016 16:03 - 70248 of 81564

Wasting your time jimmy this mans a know it all you know .

2517GEORGE - 15 Apr 2016 16:14 - 70249 of 81564

will----------British Aerospace had a factory not too far from us but sold out around 2010 I think.
Non attendees at doctors surgery and hospitals should pay a small fine after one no show.
Re NHS waste, our main hospital regularly send patients home after a stay without their medication, this is sent via taxis (sometimes) only an hour or so after the patient has left.
They also request ambulances to transport patients home that aren't ready to go, and because of timing restrictions the ambulances leave, meaning the NHS pays twice for that transport.

jimmy b - 15 Apr 2016 16:16 - 70250 of 81564

And will thinks the NHS is running great ,it is not it is in serious trouble.
So many people from abroad are now using it .

grannyboy - 15 Apr 2016 16:17 - 70251 of 81564

will talks absolute rubbish...Airbus won't be going anywhere, its just more scaremongering by an obvious europhile remainer..

will10 - 15 Apr 2016 16:21 - 70252 of 81564

jimmy

Sorry if you have had bad experience with NHS.
Waiting lists may be longer and efficiencies abound.
Funding is lacking.

But many advances in past 5 years. I can give you a list of the few I 'm aware of if you want.
