THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Wasting your time jimmy this mans a know it all you know .

will----------British Aerospace had a factory not too far from us but sold out around 2010 I think.
Non attendees at doctors surgery and hospitals should pay a small fine after one no show.
Re NHS waste, our main hospital regularly send patients home after a stay without their medication, this is sent via taxis (sometimes) only an hour or so after the patient has left.
They also request ambulances to transport patients home that aren't ready to go, and because of timing restrictions the ambulances leave, meaning the NHS pays twice for that transport.

And will thinks the NHS is running great ,it is not it is in serious trouble.
So many people from abroad are now using it .

grannyboy - 15 Apr 2016 16:17 - 70251 of 81564

will talks absolute rubbish...Airbus won't be going anywhere, its just more scaremongering by an obvious europhile remainer..

will10 - 15 Apr 2016 16:21 - 70252 of 81564

jimmy

Sorry if you have had bad experience with NHS.
Waiting lists may be longer and efficiencies abound.
Funding is lacking.

But many advances in past 5 years. I can give you a list of the few I 'm aware of if you want.

Fred1new - 15 Apr 2016 16:27 - 70253 of 81564

Will,

P70235

Fully agree with you.

Also agree with you over the NHS.

The standards in general are higher than they ever were.

The "problem" is the expected and more sophisticated possible treatments and ageing population.

If it was for the "foreigners" working in the NHS, often for low wages, the system would crumble.

=-=-=-=

However, in an attempt to lower the demands on A&E I wonder if "first aid" or equivalent for simple injuries etc. could be taught in schools.

Due to parents, grandparents and offspring no longer living in close communities some of the support systems have been reduced.

2517GEORGE - 15 Apr 2016 16:38 - 70254 of 81564

It's true there have been fantastic advances in recent years but the costs of providing the medicines to the patient in many cases (various cancers) is prohibitive.

We've got a fantastic pill to extend your life Mr Smith but unfortunately it costs too much to let you have it.

If you could forget your dogged negative view of the NHS for a minute you would have read that I pointed out that the NHS lacked funding and there were inefficiencies.( including not charging non residents ). A big inefficiency is failures to show up.
However they do many more effective treatments than 5 years ago.
Properly funded, efficiencies removed, the NHS will continue to work well.

George

You said it, I agree. Heard of similar here. Reduce the NHS waste.

grannyboy

Google Airbus. It is a European grouping. Why would it be expected to continue funding work in the UK?
A big block of research funding in our local universities is from EU. UK has poor record of funding long term. Where do we get funds.?
The southwest benefits from EU we will stay in. I respect your views, vote how you wish.

Go educate yourself ignorance is not bliss

VICTIM - 15 Apr 2016 16:54 - 70256 of 81564

I don't need education from you mate the man who wants , 60 70 80 100,000 . Syrians taken in this country . And just show some respect as regards your language too .

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 16:55 - 70257 of 81564

i also think Will is getting an unfair beasting from some of you

fred
you wrote ...... in an attempt to lower the demands on A&E I wonder if "first aid" or equivalent for simple injuries etc. could be taught in schools.
offices and similar can't even give an aspirin from the first aid box
i'm not even sure about an elastoplast
why?
in case there's an allergic reaction, and then you'll have hse and a lawsuit round your neck

Chris Carson - 15 Apr 2016 17:17 - 70258 of 81564

Teach First Aid in schools? Your having a laugh! They can't even teach them to read or write or add up.

Remind us Will what is your occupation again? Some might say self interest sways your vote but I couldn't possibly comment :0)

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 17:19 - 70259 of 81564

chris - it was Fred's suggestion not Will's ....... put your specs on :-)

VICTIM - 15 Apr 2016 17:22 - 70260 of 81564

cynic what chris is saying is that willio is in the housing business , you know people need houses don't they .

Chris Carson - 15 Apr 2016 17:24 - 70261 of 81564

Put your specs on cyners, note the fresh paragraph.

will10 - 15 Apr 2016 17:26 - 70262 of 81564

I'm sorry for the language didn't mean to disrespect you. It just pops out when I'm responding to that fucker Tanker. I wouldn't try to educate you 'mate', your on your own there.

To jump back into "our UK humane response to refugees", as you will remember I said as a country we could cope with our share of the refugees.... up to 300,000. As you know we already take in more migrants than that now.
Remember we are talking about REFUGEES here...... don't start ranting on about economic migrants.

In any event eventually, due to global warming, there will be a much, much greater mass migration northwards. Prepare for it, you will not be able to stop it.

Whoever created this world probably didn't intend that, we who have most, have a right to refuse to share with those that have little. Just give a little.

Fred1new - 15 Apr 2016 17:26 - 70263 of 81564

Not if the implementation procedures are correctly taught.

-=-==-=

Treatments of minor conditions are carried out by many already.

-=-==

But perhaps.

We can restrict the NHS treatments to those who have the ability to pay!

Bugger the rest!

I'm a House builder. Small scale less than 30 units a year. Little difference to my business/day to day living if in or out.

100% in on economics
50/50 in on politics.

cynic - 15 Apr 2016 17:31 - 70265 of 81564

fred - unless i am much mistaken, it is already HSE rules about aspirin etc in offices ...... not really worth arguing about i admit, and in principle a good idea just as it is now commonplace for CPR to be taught in schools

VICTIM - 15 Apr 2016 17:33 - 70266 of 81564

Personally I think you talk through your backside but there we go , I suppose you have to pop off to do some faith healing as you seem to be up your own arse . Any way toodle pip old boy or is it your Grace .

Fred1new - 15 Apr 2016 17:35 - 70267 of 81564

I thought Tanker was a pseudonym for Vicky.
