Melnibone...yes thats it...reckon...1.9700- 1.9650 consolidating area now..
its done a lot to get back up here today...

Melnibone - 19 Dec 2006 20:07 - 7037 of 11056

Thanks Foale. It's always useful to see how other folk work out
their entry and stop points.

I see today's German data release backed up what I was thinking
about the 'Chunnel'. (well, at least the Euro. Maybe as Hilary suggests
I'm looking at the wrong cross)
See, I'm learning the secret lingo used on here.
Mrs M thinks I'm going potty. Wants to know why I keep chuntering
about Loonies, Fibers and Chunnels, and would I like to see a doctor
about it. :-))

Here's tonights stuff to Miss M.

Well I finally confined myself to a long-term trade :)

Can't remember when I last posted, but I still have the cable long I started what seems like an age ago, from 1.9312.
My mother died 2 days later.
Decided to keep it going and added sporadically until the following Friday, when I reduced it by a chunk and left the rest to run. Ha well it didn't hit $2 first, so I still have a sell order sitting there (not sure for how much longer though), but all the buy orders have kicked in now. This sideways stuff has taken forever, and I have to say, I was a teeny bit worried yesterday when I saw it had a good go 20 points or so below my last entry, and the daily MACDs were looking none too clever for my liking last night. I told myself it was just a ruse though :)

Sort of put a marker in to the left above, so you can see where I went long that Friday. Dunno how to write stuff on charts :(

This one's from a while ago, so you can see where the green lines above are coming from:

Pulled the stops right up now, and a break above 1.9730 will see me wading in again.

MPC minutes tomorrow.

Love the decor, Hils - and totally well done to you for getting a boat :)
Could you possibly add a touch of La Clusaz please?

Blimey - I nearly forgot :)
Welcome to the party, Dil!
Can you plump up the header too, Hils? Y'know ... as in fluffy.

hilary - 20 Dec 2006 09:08 - 7039 of 11056

That was Doris the Milkmaid who was filling his boat, Chocopops. He sailed it into The Bugle Club for everyone to see.

So sorry to hear about your mum. I knew she wasn't well, but I hadn't realised that things were that bad.

When are you going to La Clusaz? I'll see what I can do with the weather for you.

MightyMicro - 20 Dec 2006 09:47 - 7040 of 11056

Hil: And, like all good software products, shouldn't you have your award in the header too?

Bullshare - 20 Dec 2006 10:08 - 7041 of 11056

MM; And like all good Award providers here is a logo she can put somewhere:-0)

Dil - 20 Dec 2006 10:22 - 7042 of 11056

Ta Choccie , you'll be pleased to know RBOS TA team have medium term target of $2.06.

Get the RBOS currency reports each morning and have a pretty good track record.

mg - 21 Dec 2006 10:49 - 7043 of 11056

Broken up for Chrissie so thought I'd have a crack at my "old" favourite. Went short up at 19690 and began to sweat - 'cos I really want to go long - but looking OK at the moment - 10 minute MACD was what I was watching.

Will stay in to see if I can reverse at some point.

mg - 21 Dec 2006 12:29 - 7044 of 11056

Closed the short @ 620. Now looking for an opportunity to reverse

mg - 21 Dec 2006 12:38 - 7045 of 11056

But now I've looked at the 60 minute MACD and SMA/EMA potential cross I might go short again ..... could be a big drop from here. WIll wait and see - I probably came out too early (ooer missus) ..... but points make prizes :)

mg - 21 Dec 2006 15:43 - 7046 of 11056

A bit after the event but I am now long - with a stop in place for zero loss on this trade. Off to do some Xmas shopping - better late than never :)

Seymour Clearly - 21 Dec 2006 16:14 - 7047 of 11056

You're not alone mg - I'm watching you .....

Did a bit of scalping arounf 1.96 at lunchtime, didn't know when I'd get another chance to look in so where are we now... 1.96

Seymour Clearly - 21 Dec 2006 16:48 - 7048 of 11056

Is it a 10pm close tomorrow night?

mg - 22 Dec 2006 07:29 - 7049 of 11056

Long still running - will leave it now to see if it ferments into a full bodied blood red bull - or fades away into Vimto. Not bothered as I've moved the stop up a bit to make sure there are some pennies to add.

hilary - 22 Dec 2006 10:48 - 7050 of 11056

Well done, meggers. My $2 by Crimbo looks out of the question now, but I still think it should get there early in the new year.

We're all packed and the roof box is loaded as we're off at 1am and driving through the night down to the Alps, so I should really try and get some sleep this afternoon. Fingers crossed that the fog lifts today as driving will be a real pain otherwise.

Merry Christmas FXers.

Seymour Clearly - 22 Dec 2006 10:51 - 7051 of 11056

And to you Hils. Hope you have a great time and hope it snows a bit more for you. Thanks for all your help and support. Still making mistakes but getting betterer all the time:-)

hilary - 22 Dec 2006 10:56 - 7052 of 11056

I'm really pleased it's starting to work for you, Seymour.

Fortunately Meribel is quite high and part of a large circuit. It's not been above freezing for a week or so now, so the snow that there is has been reasonably well preserved. It could really do with a fresh dump at the start of next week though to set things up for the rest of the week as it's starting look a bit used.

MightyMicro - 22 Dec 2006 12:02 - 7053 of 11056

Hil: Have a splendid time, safe journey, and may your boots fit snugly. Sorry about your $2 by Crimbo. It's a New Year $2 now -- if ever ;-)

chocolat - 22 Dec 2006 12:10 - 7054 of 11056

Cor thanks Hils :)
Looking a bit slippy where we're going, but it won't be until after Christmas, so my froggie family might have scuffed it up by then ;)

Happy everything, one and all.

MightyMicro - 22 Dec 2006 12:24 - 7055 of 11056

Oh yes, and I expect that the Christmas Fairy will dismount the spiky bit at the top of the tree later on to update the Calendar.
