THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

It's always been a polluted doss house in many ways but London's finished as a place to live and enjoy in quality of life terms, and that comes from several of our friends in the last few weeks who live there.

jimmy b - 25 Apr 2016 14:09 - 70421 of 81564

Yes Stan it is finished (London) full of immigrants ,i was in two London hospitals last Thursday and it's either East Europeans with their kids or the rest of the world ,very few Brits .

iturama - 25 Apr 2016 14:15 - 70422 of 81564

Just back after taking my dogs for a walk and I thought this picture apt.

cynic - 25 Apr 2016 14:26 - 70423 of 81564

london
depends where you are in london
boroughs and their desirability or otherwise changes with time
around portobello is still a delight, and certainly stoke newington now has a lot going for it, whereas not many years ago, it would have been considered a dump ..... ditto shepherds bush

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2016 14:42 - 70424 of 81564

For BHS think of Littlewoods i suppose .

Stan - 25 Apr 2016 15:08 - 70425 of 81564

Where ever you go in a built up area the size of London the pollution is horrible, trouble is for most people unless they can see the bad air quality they don't even know it's there.

cynic - 25 Apr 2016 15:10 - 70426 of 81564

at least london has lots of green space
try joburg for being just a vile concrete jungle

jimmy b - 25 Apr 2016 15:12 - 70427 of 81564

Joburg ,wouldn't really matter cause you would be murdered long before bad air quality took hold .

cynic - 25 Apr 2016 15:14 - 70428 of 81564

you may even choose to jump off the high balcony!

jimmy b - 25 Apr 2016 15:19 - 70429 of 81564

This was a feature fitted to some cars in South Africa to counteract car jacking .

Stan - 25 Apr 2016 15:23 - 70430 of 81564

I am talking about London and no where else abroad.

Haystack - 25 Apr 2016 15:32 - 70431 of 81564

The real fault with charity shops is the local councils. They allow the charity shops to pay reduced business rates. This should not be allowed. It increases the rate burden on the other businesses and keeps rents up.

VICTIM - 25 Apr 2016 15:39 - 70432 of 81564

And also of course they are helping to keep over paid fat arsed fannies in their role as CEO or something equally sick .

Stan - 25 Apr 2016 15:42 - 70433 of 81564

If you are serious about quality of life in a built up largish urban area then you could do a lot worst and live here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0783m9w being broadcast now.

Fred1new - 25 Apr 2016 16:56 - 70434 of 81564

What has Hunt on Cameron.

He should have been shot after the "Jeremy Hunt clings on after Leveson inquiry ordeal"
and his management of the "Doctors" strike is abysmal.

Prepared, "to let patients die" rather than talk to the doctors and allow a public enquiry into the results of changes to practice and contracts.

Prepared to allow patients to be used as pawns in his ideological game.

Cameron should fire him now before it is too late.

What a government.

cynic - 25 Apr 2016 17:00 - 70435 of 81564

BMA is almost if not as least as culpable

however, i concur that hunt has made a very bad job of getting his logic across to the public ...... certainly imposing a contract has to be nuts

Stan - 25 Apr 2016 17:01 - 70436 of 81564

You live in a world of your own Alf don't you.

cynic - 25 Apr 2016 17:03 - 70437 of 81564

meaning what?

jimmy b - 25 Apr 2016 17:06 - 70438 of 81564

meaning Stan has nothing intelligent to say ,just a one liner meaning nothing .

grannyboy - 25 Apr 2016 17:28 - 70439 of 81564

It's strange that jimmy b, I've been thinking that for quite a while,
in fact i might of mentioned stan's inability to post anything
resembling intelligent that assist his left wing views, the same with fred,
anyone with an ounce of common sense can see both sides are at
fault but he'd just rather put all the blame on Hunt, even if he
is a wally, and the BMA who is blatantly left leaning rabble rousers...
