Tanfield Group - any info out there? (TAN)

mr mike - 21 Jan 2004 13:49

Tanfield Group is the new company name of Comeleon. As I understand it, Comoleon was getting into trouble so TAN (paerent company?) took over. Since this has happened the share price has dropped by 0.25p each day for the last week or so (on average) and are now around the 3p mark with very little activity.

Does anyone know much about this company or previously held stock in Comeleon? There is virtually no info out there other than on the company website.

cheers

Mike

as i said before, daily tele said they had money problems.....so this will get booted right now.

u still holding this cynic?

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 17:49 - 706 of 1076

yup, damn fool that i am .... should have cut my losses ages ago ...... fortunately not a HUGE stake, but not one that i care to see halved nevertheless!

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 17:54 - 707 of 1076

i'm afraid to say its likely to go lower......i'm genuinely sorry to say that even though we both wind each other up

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 18:10 - 708 of 1076

apology accepted .... feel free to be as caustic as you like, for i know that i too can be a bit sharp, but your BNP undertones that creep in are just plain distasteful .... enough said

i think (thought!) TAN had a really good product, and did well out of the share, sold at a profit and then rashly (greedily) bought back in at 108.

tough call now whether to crystalise the loss or to wait to see if someone will buy them out ... or even sp to recover

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 18:14 - 709 of 1076

off point now.......but i aint bnp.....if someone makes certain hard viewpoints, people call them nazis etc......just look at al fayed at prince philip, lol.

i'm nationalistic thats all.

as for tan, either sell and buy a bit lower later on in year....or hold for medium long term......fat boy fat today was talking about h2 cars etc

cynic - 26 Jun 2008 18:20 - 710 of 1076

hmm ..... interesting philosophical point as to the difference (if any) between nationalism and the same with political labels ...... history indicates that nationalistic movements get pretty radical and downright nasty all too often

halifax - 26 Jun 2008 18:36 - 711 of 1076

TAN's PER must be around 14 now which is much more sensible for a automotive company with growth prospects.

scotinvestor - 26 Jun 2008 20:25 - 712 of 1076

ironic thing is cynic that since labour came to power, bnp etc have come back into force.....mrs.t made them extinct almost........similarly, the cold war was gone due in part to mrs.t......now its back under labour.

and snp r now in power in scotland and longer labour r in power in england, the more likely uk will be split up......only a conservative victory....and very soon rather than 2 year wait....will stop total break up.
having said that, i know cornwall people who want independence from england

Evil Knievil is shorting this.....his insight into the market is incredible, if he is shorting something the best thing is to get out....he is not always right but is a heck of a lot of times !

Dil - 27 Jun 2008 09:17 - 716 of 1076

Got to 40p quicker than I thought.

Strawbs - 27 Jun 2008 09:27 - 717 of 1076

EKs stratergy is probably a smart one. People fear losing money far quicker than they fear missing out on the chance of making it. E.g. They often fall quicker than they rise. Hlyeo98s scarey chart thread testifies to that.....years of patient rises wiped out in a matter of months...

In my opinion.

Strawbs.

Shorters have to buy back at sometime, i cannot understand this drop when you look at there results and to my thinking they are in the right market being commercial vehicles, where they can save money on fuel costs etc and gives them Hi Eco Profile.
Holding 30k @ circa 85p

Oh dear.

Dil - 27 Jun 2008 11:01 - 723 of 1076

Its almost halved in two days ... someones got wind of a profits warning hence the above announcement imo.

hlyeo98 - 27 Jun 2008 11:04 - 724 of 1076

Never catch a falling knife...37p now. Looks like TAN has been another good short by EK. He thinks TAN have failed to deliver and are letting people down. This of course will have a detrimental effect on share price to say anything.
