THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

What .

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 09:41 - 70548 of 81564

What do you mean What ?.

jimmy b - 29 Apr 2016 09:41 - 70549 of 81564

Wonder what the road charges would be allowing transport through tunnel and across borders for UK transporters?
----------
What a stupid comment . Road charges for commercial vehicles exist now in some European countries in several different forms and you pay a charge to use the the tunnel .

MaxK - 29 Apr 2016 09:49 - 70550 of 81564

Don't let facts get in the way of a moan.

Fred1new - 29 Apr 2016 09:56 - 70551 of 81564

Dumbo,

Differential or doubled charges for UK.

Costs?

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 10:04 - 70552 of 81564

Negative all the time Freda , just think if you vote out , Dave will probably be gone , someone new will come in and you can start a new hate campaign against him , who knows Nige might be involved . Your life would take on new meaning , a new vocabulary of words to describe how you feel every day . Just think positively , ( for a change )

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 10:05 - 70553 of 81564

It's the best I can do .

cynic - 29 Apr 2016 10:05 - 70554 of 81564

fred is always positive .... positively negative

jimmy b - 29 Apr 2016 10:07 - 70555 of 81564

International road transport was my business for many years Fred ,it is something i know a lot about , tariffs on EU goods i'm not sure but the way it's transported i do know so don't call me dumbo when you know nothing about road transport.

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 10:09 - 70556 of 81564

Yeh on yer bike Freda .

Fred1new - 29 Apr 2016 11:04 - 70558 of 81564

Vicky,

Is it positive strutting out of EU?

Threatening the stability of the EU.

Threatening economic chaos to the UK and possibly the EU.

Stimulating future trade barriers with our nearest export market.

Etc.

The UK is in the EU and can negotiate for changes in rules and regulations.

If the agreement of the other members is gained laws, rules and contracts can be changed.

To me that is sensible.

The cost of disentangling from EU and then renegotiating contracts is prohibitive. (Jobs for the boys.)

Again, the reason for De Gaulle saying "NO" to the UK joining the EEC, was that he saw the UK as a Trojan Horse or as a "WRECKER".

I hope he is not right, because if he was Europe will extract a price of the "chaos" from the UK.

It will trade at the expense of the UK for its own benefit.

Cross-border agreements in research and development will be torn up. Joint business opportunities and ventures may be dumped in favour of members within the EU.

The international political protection from the EU will be obtained at a price.

They will not consider the needs of the UK in making those decisions.

Why should they, if they disadvantage themselves?

-=-=-=

It is crazy to exit.

Negotiate and Modify, rather than behave like delinquent schoolboys who take the ball away and run home, because they are not allowed to win all the time.

jimmy b - 29 Apr 2016 11:13 - 70559 of 81564

They won't let you modify the EU they just proved that .If we leave it will be the end of the EU and i hope to god i'm right .

cynic - 29 Apr 2016 11:18 - 70560 of 81564

it was difficult enough to get unanimity when there were only 13 member-states, but with 28 and growing it will be totally impossible ....... and that will not be lost on germany and arguably france

meanwhile, the french are getting stuck into one of their regular "restless" modes as their gov't attempts to modify their labour laws, so i'm sure the customary transport-related strikes will follow for the summer holidays

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 11:18 - 70561 of 81564

I dare say some will give you a bashing over that lot . Bullshit personally . What's De Gaule got to do with this era , and would he appreciate that Germany was basically calling all the shots here like a modern day Dictator . It is crazy to stay . Why don't they start making reforms now then when it's looking like big trouble ahead and avoid the unnecessary .

Fred much of post 559 is food for thought BUT we have no clout inside the EU, our record is NIL from 72. It is also becoming clear that DC and the REMAIN camp will not only take an UNFAIR advantage(the £9m) but they will cheat the UK citizens to get what they want.

It went downhill when Blair & co gave away our power of veto.

VICTIM - 29 Apr 2016 11:26 - 70564 of 81564

OK then would De Gaule appreciate that his country is being slowly taken over by Muslims et al . Probably turning in his grave .
