Biofuels Corporation. (BFC)

wilbs - 07 Jul 2004 19:47

The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.

Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

I don't think it will get back to 140 soon. I can't understand why it hasn't plummeted further - surely most holders are just desperate to get something back. Who's mopping up all the sells?

jimmy b - 02 Dec 2005 15:24 - 707 of 1184

Don't know ,but what about the debt ? even if this gets up and running ,i suppose if your prepared to hold long term ,,,but now this is a company that goes against my new rules of investing /trading , i'm sure i'll get caught again ,but hopefully not like this. Like you i am surprised it's not 40 or 50p..

Frampton - 02 Dec 2005 15:38 - 708 of 1184

This isn't a company I'm happy to hold long term now, I don't trust them at all, I'm just trying to think where the best exit route is in the short term - since I obviously missed the best one this morning, I don't think I have to rush into anything just yet. Anyhow, I have to keep telling myself, this is a much better deal than I was expecting - I can currently get back 61% of my money (though I still can't trade online) - last week I though all, or the majority was lost.

jimmy b - 02 Dec 2005 15:42 - 709 of 1184

Your going up Frampton !!

Frampton - 02 Dec 2005 15:48 - 710 of 1184

Yes, provaricating is increasing my capital! By the way, I bet I lost more on champ invester than you today - I'll have a look later once I've sorted out my real portfollio!

jimmy b - 02 Dec 2005 15:54 - 711 of 1184

Dam it i neglected that today, too much going on .

Frampton - 02 Dec 2005 16:07 - 712 of 1184

I just sold 3/4s of my holding for 97p. I'll have a think over the weekend what to do with the rest. I'm sure there will be more shorting next week as this still looks very risky so I'm not sure whether I'll hang on to any. Anyhow this has still made me very relieved to get anything back and I have a bottle of champagne chilling for later to celebrate (losing thousands, but not anywhere near as much as I thought last week).

jimmy b - 02 Dec 2005 16:18 - 713 of 1184

Funny Frampton ,but that's just what i'm going to do , celebrate my loss,,usually i'd be pissed off ,but in the light of what could have happened ,i'll just get pissed..

Frampton - 02 Dec 2005 16:43 - 714 of 1184

Yeah, the champagne was meant for when production started, c'est la vie.

hlyeo98 - 02 Dec 2005 18:39 - 715 of 1184

I agree...there will be more shorting next week...partly due to poor communications with its shareholders...initially management said production is in line with schedule...next it got suspended with no warning...now 90p...but i don't think BFC will have much confidence and support from its shareholders. 70p likely next week.

stockdog - 02 Dec 2005 19:39 - 716 of 1184

Not a holder - luckily sold out a month or so back when it hit a sort of stop loss at around 140p. (Also sold out of DOO - wish I'd been brave enough to get back into that at its recent low and taken a quick opportunistic profit!))

Reading between the lines and seeing the repayment date of the Bank borrowing - next year(!), BFC must be contemplating waiting till the plant is fully operational and then replacing their Bank borrowing with some serious equity fund-raising - so anticipate a big dilution at that point.

On that basis, I would be looking to get out at the top of the first bounce (whenever you think that is!) and getting into something with much less inherent risk.

All IMHO and good luck to all survivors.

Others value the company differently... Bid approach.. Is it from an oil company?

jimmy b - 05 Dec 2005 10:28 - 718 of 1184

Could heve gone in at 80p last Friday.

ahoj - 05 Dec 2005 10:37 - 723 of 1184

you could..
I made a big mistake when I sold my over 3600 QXL shares at 315 and accepted a very big loss over a year ago... If I remember correctly, It was my biggest holding at the time.... I could be rich now.

jimmy b - 05 Dec 2005 10:39 - 724 of 1184

ahoj ,let me know how many you buy ? good luck.

driver - 05 Dec 2005 10:51 - 725 of 1184

ahoj
Just to rub salt into the wound you would have had 327600 worth of QXL shares if you had held.
