THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Has anyone used airbnb? I have just booked for the first time. Seems like magic internet enablement. No wonder its valuation is so high.

VICTIM - 30 Apr 2016 07:55 - 70612 of 81564

Just the economy , not one bit of concern for communities that take the brunt of this mass immigration , just selfish greed in the end for some .The only interest is themselves and what advantage they can make . Any body who thinks it's white communities that suffer through these times should look around , seeing reports of Asian areas in conflict with the Slovaks . Asians see lazy layabout slovaks , this is the future ladies and gentlemen .

Stan - 30 Apr 2016 09:03 - 70613 of 81564

Euro talk? get on the other thread.. how many more times.

Stan - 30 Apr 2016 09:04 - 70614 of 81564

Airbnb has become to commercialised now sadly RF i.e. to expensive the last time I looked.

will10 - 30 Apr 2016 09:06 - 70615 of 81564

Victim

It always comes down to economics in the end.

Have you seen the effect that the loss of a major source of employment has on a community?. Without a healthy economy we cannot fund our social services.

It is always economics, communities, towns and cities are formed because of economics.
People move because of economics.

Victim...stop acting as one. Stop always painting the UK as a victim.

Be positive.

Will he is just a reactionary Tory boy oink, he will be gone in time like the rest of them.

2517GEORGE - 30 Apr 2016 12:21 - 70617 of 81564

will10 you are correct re the economy, without wealth creation countries will struggle to finance their projects and services and immigration is part of becoming wealthier however, when you overload any system it is likely to break down. That is what is happening now, we are being overrun, and our services are being stretched beyond their limits.
This combined with the incredibly stupid monetary policies (around the world) which are actually stunting growth is why the majority of folk are not feeling trapped.

George

I do not disagree. Maybe change last sentence with now instead of not.

Politics is all blaa bla bla. Economics has the final say.

Yes typo error and unusually for me never read it through before posting.

70615 - not all Airbnb lodgings are expensive .... you just have to do a bit of research
my children all use it on their travels and have found it very good
my younger son has a room in his very nice flat that he offers on Airbnb at a very fair rate, and accordingly does very well indeed from it

aldwickk - 30 Apr 2016 19:59 - 70621 of 81564

Will 10

It's not all down to economics and if it were, the answer would still be NO to staying in the EU. Germany, France, Italy are in a worse state than the UK growth wise, not to mention the basket cases of Greece etc. The Euro will be gone , the free movement of Labour in a borderless EU is all but gone. The EU is corrupt and is falling apart.

A UK free of the EU will grow faster and richer .

Thanks Stan (and cynic). The per night price is set by the property owner of course. Air does add a small service charge. But I think £97 for 3 night is ok? Will let you know once I have stayed there!

Very interesting, first livestream of the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting going on just now.

https://finance.yahoo.com/brklivestream/

Warren Buffett time. I would like to buy som BRK, having listened for a bit.

edit.. Mr Buffett (85) and Mr Munger (92), just heard. Inspirational.

Stan - 30 Apr 2016 20:43 - 70624 of 81564

I agree it does look good randompunt, but those prices are nowhere near the higher prices that I saw when I looked some months ago.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

Haystack - 30 Apr 2016 21:27 - 70625 of 81564

Be careful of this sort of thing. There have been several instances.

Haystack, I doubt bedroom video of me would have much value.

Will let you know how it goes.

MaxK - 01 May 2016 18:27 - 70628 of 81564
