How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

7-1 Davis at the interval :-)

Hendrys face has been a picture

I bet the guy who had 2k at 1.03 on Davis at 2-0 will be sitting a bit easier now (he thought he was backing in the frame by frame market)

days - had a look back at my trades this morning and realsied I was overtrading a little. have found very few big movers recently, a lot of prices seem to be up and down with out any real trend and mainly only succeeding in scalping a few ticks at a time

interesting thread on general betting "new bot on win markets". I see you commented on it, also think what is being mentioned is why I have taken several bad positions over the last few days. Is it you moving the market up and down within a 4-5 tick range with large lumps using the new spreadsheet function?

Not on purpose but it just struck me that they named the times I was in the market messing around. Testing something is only really worth it with decent sums so I have had money in and out of the market. The timing of the comments just seemed to tie in with when I was testing it. Probably just a coincidence.

I have actually had it running automatically and carried on trading, so like today when it was full on I didn't notice any difference.

Hi all

Horse racing a bit decimated with both Newcastle and Windsor having been abandoned, that said im quite amazed Haydock is going ahead.

nothing much grabbing me in the footie, though may back Man U if they start well, dont rate Villa at all, though would be hoping for nearer 2

Hi Steve,

Will be checking out the Man U game later too as at 1.71 looks quite good. Will probably drip feed smaller amounts into the game.

Big concern for United looks like the lack of a ball winner against a 5 man midfield, though they should still be good enough.

Man U also have a very good record vs Villa

Park hits post for United
