Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

And the public can change their mind at each election.
Also, if you make a mistake and take the wrong route I hope you are allowed to stop and reverse.
Especially if you map and goals are wrong!
--=-=-=-=
The majority of Brexiters were voting against "something" not for "something".
Show the public the results of negotiations and the probable consequences and let them vote again, rather than being stuck with rabble rousing, emotional rants with unknown consequences which provoke their previous mistakes.
Let them sleep on it.

Go on Fred, tell us the positives of staying.
I personally was voting out to be free of the top down mentality that went for Brussels, and all it entails (a lot that they don't speak about).
Go on Fred, here's you chance, give us the full monty on why we should stay. (a bit of reality wont go amiss)

From post 103
''Also, if you make a mistake and take the wrong route I hope you are allowed to stop and reverse''.
Fred advocating a U turn whereas in the past he has been vociferous in his condemnation of them. I guess this one would suit so it's ok. Typical Labour hypocrite

George.
Just observant of strong stable leadership and government and what it means to some.
Never, found difficulty in accepting when I have made mistakes and usually try to correct the resulting situation and not repeat them.
Often annoying, but useful lessons.
Recognise or realise that I seem to have survived reasonably well doing so.
Also, believed in trial and error, and believe it is useful sometimes, hopefully recognising the errors earlier enough to modify decisions and prevent serious consequences.

But the problem is that many of tory right winged elitist and rabble followers in government at the present time think they can walk on water and are hoping for miracles to save their own skins.

Dil

Or voting for control of our own borders ?
I suggest it was the remoaners voting against something ... leaving and were not voting for anything positive in staying.

Manuel and Dil.
You can set up a little isolated england and the 13th county and rule it as a thiefdom.
Mind gradually, little england will be more and more spurned by the rest of the world.
-=-=-=-=-
The universality of international laws, trading rules and regulations would be beneficial would be of benefit.
If you don't like the rules negotiate against them and get them reformed.
Don't stumble off like decrepit adolescent school boys who can't get their own way by blustering, shouting its unfair because we can't get our own ways.

Like Cameron after his negotiations for sod all from the EU bureaucrats, is that what you mean Fred? As for being spurned by the rest of the world the opposite seems to be the case. Tell me, why do you not wish to trade worldwide, why are you so intent on only dealing with the shrinking (GDP) EU.

Europe English
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU rather than German which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five year phase-in plan that would be known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of the "k". This should klear up konfusion and keyboards kan have 1 less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be ekspekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e"s in the language is disgraseful, and they should go away.
By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v". During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.
After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi to understand ech ozer.
Ze drem vil finali kum tru!
