How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Bugz, yes read that and only scalping at min bets to get the feel for things, i think scams often create oppertunities for short term trades as in the stock market

I recommend if anyboy is around getting on over to X factor and Strictly come dancing. I have been putting orders in out of the money and closing out opposing trades when the fill. Having some very profitable fun.

Scrip. Didn't get a screen shot, but will do if it happens again. Great fun as you say on Strictly come dancing, wondered if it was you with the large orders, will give you a ring to upgrade as son as i get the hang of the basics. Its a bit different to scalping the US futures order book.

Just bagged a chunk on coming dancing. Laid Colin Jackson as the final two were annouced. He was at 1.47, price went out to 2 on the annoucment. Everybody was trying to lay Zoe Ball. Strange or what!

Scrip

backed Gough all evening as soon as the judges votes were cast. The way it was structured as long as Zoe Ball beat Jackson on the judges vote then Gough should have been very short cos for several weeks the public vote was clearly gough then jackson then ball

also picked up all the free money on Zoe Ball from 200s to 1000s after she had been voted off

a nice evening though had most of my xfactor profit on Andy - cant win em all eh

All green on Liverpool match this morning may use some of the money in play.

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 11:45 - 7112 of 10502

Forgot the game was on

have Liverpool had many chances?

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 11:47 - 7113 of 10502

Liverpool are playing well and have been very unlucky. I will feel they will have been very very unlucky if they lose this.

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 11:48 - 7114 of 10502

11-0 to Liverpool on corners. I have put some money on them.

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 11:49 - 7115 of 10502

2-0 on disallowed goals as well!

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 11:56 - 7116 of 10502

thanks scrip

saw the disallowed goals though struggling to understand liverpools side - why no Riise or Cisse

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 12:11 - 7117 of 10502

3-0 on disallowed goals

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 12:12 - 7118 of 10502

Gotta be a fix, how many disallowed goals can a team have?

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 12:13 - 7119 of 10502

The previous one was correct, that looked harsh

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 12:14 - 7120 of 10502

Liverpool so unlucky if they don't get a result here.

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 12:15 - 7121 of 10502

what a pitiful attempt from Kewell lol

Fundamentalist - 18 Dec 2005 12:17 - 7122 of 10502

how does a side lose 1-0 having had 17 corners to nil and 3 goals disallowed - id love to see the attempts stats

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 12:17 - 7123 of 10502

Very unlucky Liverpool, don't deserve to lose at all. 17-0 on corners etc. etc. etc.

Scripophilist - 18 Dec 2005 12:18 - 7124 of 10502

Laid Sau Paulo at 1.02 to trim my profit a bit. Would have been big bucks if it came in.
