Did you see Paxman on Brussels where they transport every MEP and their files and entourage from Brussels to Strasbourg just to vote over certain items , just because it is written in the EU constitution that it has to be done that way , and it can't be stopped by anyone at all .The people doing it couldn't believe it , It cost over 100,million Euros to implement . They then go back to Brussels and carry on , whether this was every month or year i forget .

Interesting and relevant Fred, as we tend to take for granted some of the things gained from being a member of a club, much easier to constantly find fault with a club membership for some. Weighing up the pro's and con's takes a fair time after "listening" to people with info on how the EU works overall. Not easy as there is a lot to consider.

Attending meetings on the subject can be very informative, assuming the speakers are as non party political as seen, been to two now and more coming up when spotted I hope.

I always thought movement from Brussels to Strasbourg and back again was financial stupidity, but the instigation of the practice was an attempt to calm individual vanities and share out the baubles with different member states.

This sort of "daftness", when seen to be "daftness", can be addressed, but remember the UK seem to be trying to block and destroy the EU for many years before accepting its "political" direction.

Also, the UK wanting the benefits from the organisation, but not willing to accept responsibilities. (Like some wish now.)
