GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).
Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

SP has held well since the 32% spike. However, a short term double top may have developed over the last few days. Keep a close eye on the SP tomorrow morning, any fall could lead to a drop to very strong support at 8p. Possibly a chance to lock in profit and re-invest at a lower level.

Just for the record potatohead is an idiot, very quick to ramp, abuse and shput the odds with no evidence. I'd personally take him with less than pinch of salt and newbies shouldn't be discouraged. Theres always an idiot on free BB's and moneyam has their share of them.

Plenty of support here capetown, potatohead should be banned for his consistant ramping and abuse to others!! It'd be no loss to the site if he were, I've yet to read anything I'd consider to be a contribution to a thread posted by him/her.

Thanks to all for the info. Have been using Hargreaves and Lloyds for buying certs for years and only lazyness has prevented me from sorting out online account. ST you are correct the paperwork is a pain and expensive. I will start to enjoy things again when my shares return to Pre May sell off prices, VOG hits big gas, GOO gives great news, FOGL, DES and RKH get a Rig and MOG finds an elephant field. I can wait a bit for EO and GPC. Thanks to all again.

ST Yes I have looked at NOP several times but sadly lack of cash has always prevented. They do have a lot of possibilities though. FOGL got in at float and have added since and appreciate both DES and RKH have a long way to go but I couldn't take the risk of missig the boat. Another very small coy I have a good feeling about and have shares is MDL. Th Directors have a lot of experience around where they have licences. After getting burned in Dot Com I am now all Oil, Gas and Minng. Could realy do with some great news from VOG.

Have you still got your vog? majormoney just out of interest, how much are your vog standing you at, mine are averaging out at 1.59p to break even. You mentioned des and nop. I have nop and bought them at 1.61. Desire pet. I had those 18 months ago bought at 70pence per share amd sold at .30p end of tax year. Took loss. I did not buy them back. they were then trying to get hold of a rig. Hve they got the rig yet?

Candolim, I average out in the 60's but if I strip out my two buys back in June in the 150's which I don't intend to keep long term then I am in the 40's. This purely becase I got in all my buys last year before they went on the run. An article in Moneyweek (excellent mag) alerted me and I did a lot of research on them and I liked what i read. Particularly that some of management ex Yukos and know the area. There has been rumours that DES are talking to a Norwegian company re a Rig but nothing definite. I like DES but RkH have the licences where oil was found in 1998. Very frustrating waiting for FOGL, DES and RKH to get drilling. Very interested in ST's comments on HNR as I have held them for ages but finally ditched short while ago as too many false dawns. However I do consider them very good company with good licences and they are the new frontier drillers. They are also in the Falklands and I am hoping they will team up with FOG with a Rig.

majormoney good to hear that vog stand you at around 40p average. agree with lizard if goo takes of we should all do very well out of this one as we are in at a very low price. You never know we may get some good news tomorro. are any of you involved with cfd trading. This is a way of trading that I know nothing about. I have been approached by two stockbrokers recently trying to get me to get involved. They also tell me there is no tax involved with the deals. Try and put me in the picture if you can. thanks.

Candolim, you should look CFDs up on a site such as selftrade.co.uk. Not for though, sure alot can be made spread betting but can also cost you if your wrong... Come on GOO, lets see stability at 10p.
