THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

rent control
an interesting subject, and at face value can look a great idea to help those who can't even afford to move from home to small artisan businesses that need low cost workshops and the like

unfortunately, as can now be seen in lisbon, it means that landlords cannot or do not want to afford to keep their properties in A1 condition ...... more importantly, when these controls are removed as inevitably they are, it's like a champagne cork out of a bottle

As usual TANKER takes gullibility to new levels. There is no plan to seize Swedish houses. The story is about a left wing social worker calling for this to be done. There is absolutely no chance of it happening in reality as owning a second weekend/holiday home is very common in Sweden. There would be a mass uprising if they attempted to do it.

jimmy b - 31 May 2016 15:49 - 71356 of 81564

There has been an uprising in many European countries ,people have had enough of their governments allowing mass immigration, or should i say invasion.

cynic - 31 May 2016 16:06 - 71357 of 81564

the latest french "uprising" is more to do with a bit of well warranted union bashing by their own socialist gov't

grannyboy - 31 May 2016 16:16 - 71358 of 81564

haystacks its not as daft as you are trying to make out, there is a
number of Swedish towns and villages that are struggling to find
accomodation for the immigrants that are flooding that country.

They are even hiring cruise ships but they are not going to be left
on cruise ships as they'l be needed for new arrivals, once they've been
processed they have to find them homes.

And the Swedish are very left wing bleeding heart liberals, which is
going to be their downfall...

I t should be made compulsory across the globe that all zoos can only employ tranquillizers when there is a serious problem......Gorillas are in fact very protective and caring even though their looks don't match....the need to shoot dead that poor animal should not have arisen : this should and must never ever happen again anywhere....

Another Company go's bust http://www.austinreed.com/

Haystack - 31 May 2016 23:32 - 71361 of 81564

Shooting the Gorilla was the right thing to do. We would be having different conversations if the boy died due to using a tranquilizer and no one decided to shoot. Tranquilizers do not work that quickly. The gorilla has the strength of about 6 men and weighs almost as much. The Gorilla could have fallen on the boy and crushed him or become annoyed by the tranquilizer and attacked the boy. If it was my decision, I would do the same.

TANKER - 01 Jun 2016 08:55 - 71362 of 81564

the gorilla should not of been shot damn disgrace .
the parents are to blame drugged up low life
criminals not fit to have children

cynic - 01 Jun 2016 09:35 - 71363 of 81564

don't be so ridiculous!
you think the zoo took the decision lightly?

how come you and several other guys are suddenly experts in gorilla behavioural patterns?

had it been your child in there, what would you have done?
taken a chance and hoped a tranquiliser would take full effect before the child was severely injured or killed, even if unintentionally?

TANKER - 01 Jun 2016 09:41 - 71364 of 81564

cynic the point is the parents are clowns and no sane person would let their 4 year old out of their site in a zoo common sense but they have none

TANKER - 01 Jun 2016 09:42 - 71365 of 81564

the police now investigating the parents
