Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

As usual TANKER takes gullibility to new levels. There is no plan to seize Swedish houses. The story is about a left wing social worker calling for this to be done. There is absolutely no chance of it happening in reality as owning a second weekend/holiday home is very common in Sweden. There would be a mass uprising if they attempted to do it.

There has been an uprising in many European countries ,people have had enough of their governments allowing mass immigration, or should i say invasion.

the latest french "uprising" is more to do with a bit of well warranted union bashing by their own socialist gov't

haystacks its not as daft as you are trying to make out, there is a
number of Swedish towns and villages that are struggling to find
accomodation for the immigrants that are flooding that country.
They are even hiring cruise ships but they are not going to be left
on cruise ships as they'l be needed for new arrivals, once they've been
processed they have to find them homes.
And the Swedish are very left wing bleeding heart liberals, which is
going to be their downfall...

I t should be made compulsory across the globe that all zoos can only employ tranquillizers when there is a serious problem......Gorillas are in fact very protective and caring even though their looks don't match....the need to shoot dead that poor animal should not have arisen : this should and must never ever happen again anywhere....

Shooting the Gorilla was the right thing to do. We would be having different conversations if the boy died due to using a tranquilizer and no one decided to shoot. Tranquilizers do not work that quickly. The gorilla has the strength of about 6 men and weighs almost as much. The Gorilla could have fallen on the boy and crushed him or become annoyed by the tranquilizer and attacked the boy. If it was my decision, I would do the same.

don't be so ridiculous!
you think the zoo took the decision lightly?
how come you and several other guys are suddenly experts in gorilla behavioural patterns?
had it been your child in there, what would you have done?
taken a chance and hoped a tranquiliser would take full effect before the child was severely injured or killed, even if unintentionally?

cynic the point is the parents are clowns and no sane person would let their 4 year old out of their site in a zoo common sense but they have none

that is another issue entirely and as so often, you have gone off at a complete tangent from what you were trying to argue previously - ie the zoo was wrong to shoot the gorilla

I don't want to say it..but there are cattle rods I think they call them that give a mild electric shock..perhaps could have been used to fend off the gorilla whilst someone grabbed the boy......it's just to say...such a shame that that poor animal had to be put down that way.....

The real culprits are the zoo for having a hole in the fence for a child to get through. The parents should sue the zoo, which must have been in the minds of the staff when they shot the gorilla.

Jeremy Corbyn: the BBC is 'obsessed' with damaging my leadership
Jeremy Corbyn has argued that the BBC is obsessed with trying to damage his leadership and accused some within Labour of playing into its hands.
The party leader made the claim in an interview with Vice News as part of a fly-on-the-wall documentary that gives an insight into the workings of his office.
The film, published on Wednesday morning, follows Corbyn over almost two months leading up to the May polls – through the party’s response to the unravelling of the budget, the launch of its inquiry into antisemitism within the party, and the election campaign.
In a series of interviews with Ben Ferguson, a Vice journalist and Labour member who voted for him as party leader, Corbyn revealed the depth of his feelings about his portrayal in the media.
The film shows some of his staff believe his questions to the prime minister are often leaked from his office.
In a sign of tensions within his inner circle, Milne told Vice News that the questions appear to have been leaked on about one in three occasions, giving the prime minister an advantage.
The film shows Corbyn signing photographs, tiles and books for supporters, and promising to autograph apples from his allotment in the autumn.
It also allows a glimpse into his PMQs preparations, where staff take on the role of Cameron. It shows Corbyn joking “Does anyone want to be prime minister?” before Andrew Fisher, who was recently promoted to be his policy chief, steps up.
You can watch the film here.

When the first reports started coming out it was stated that there was
a gap in the fence, and I thought at the time that was a stupid thing to
let happen by the Zoo, where an animal or a child could get in/out of
a 'secure' compound, but it was said later that the little lad climb over
a three foot high fence?
Which was it..A gap or the little lad climbing over the fence, and where was
the parents while the lad was climbing over?.
It was a shame because it looked like the gorilla was treating the lad as if it
was a baby gorilla, but as been stated you don't know how things could turn
out.
The zoo keepers had been able to get the femails back into their holding
cages, but the keepers couldn't get the male back inside.

Maybe they could have just let the little lad live with the gorillas ,i'm sure that's what Fred would say.
